FERRELL A 'LOST' CAUSE (Horrible Review - Yeah!)
Ny Post ^ | 06/05/09 | Lou Lumenick

Posted on 06/05/2009 9:32:28 AM PDT by Big_Monkey

PITY the unwitting par ents who take their kids to see "Land of the Lost," Will Ferrell's terminally stupid, sloppy, campy and cheesy -- and thoroughly unexciting and unfunny -- experiment in "family entertainment."

Those parents will surely be cringing as:

* Ferrell reaches into his pants to pleasure himself.

* A half-man, half-ape repeatedly fondles Anna Friel's breasts.

* Ferrell, under the influence of a hallucinogenic substance, strokes the aforementioned creature's hair and contemplates kissing him.

* Ferrell, out of nowhere, blasphemes about Jesus.

Nominally based on Sid and Marty Krofft's innocuous '70s TV show, "Land of the Lost," the film -- which reportedly carries a price tag of more than $100 million -- does not seem aimed at any identifiable demographic except fans of bad movies.

Maybe, just maybe the terminally stupid and marginally talented Ferrell has tortured an audience with his last movie. Let's keep a good thought.

The previews for this were incredibly unfunny. And when you can’t get enough funny out of your movie to make a decent preview, you’re in BIG trouble.

I can not stand Will Ferrell. The only thing I can watch him in is Anchorman. All this other stuff is totally crap.

I really enjoyed his SNL work but after Anchorman he went downhill fast. He’s simply not funny and at times very offensive.

... experiment in "family entertainment."

This movie was rated PG-13. Why would anyone think this was "family entertainment?"

Same here.
I did, however have the biggest crush on the original Holly from LOTL.

I liked Ferrell as Mugatu in Zoolander and as the Spartan Cheerleader Craig on SNL. His GW Bush impressions and showing his bare butt and nearly bare butt on tv and in the movies is a huge turnoff.

Yeah seriously. Who over the age 10 would see those previews and thinkg “This is something I will attend!”

“Elf” was actually pretty good, and the ONLY thing Ferrell’s ever done that I enjoyed.

Colonel, USAFR

My theory is that the guy has been channeling Chevy Chase, right down to the expiration date on his ability to actually be funny.

Hollywood just keeps on destroying television shows I used to enjoy as a kid.

The formula for today's comedy.

Argh! I really like Land Of The Lost as a kid, it was more intelligently written than just about any show on TV today.

I don’t know why this was a target for a Farrel comedy, the show was never funny, they were always fighting for survival and trying to figure out how to get back home.

I thought he was never any better than when he did the middle school music teachers with Ana Gasteyer. Hilarious...

I thought my dentist was a RINO or Lib until he said he does not watch any Will Ferrel movie because he promotes a gay agenda or implied homo behavior in most of his movies.

FWIW... Mr. Moviefone (Russ Leatherman) absolutely panned Will Ferrell’s “Land of the Lost” this AM on Jim Vicevich’s show. BIG thumbs down...

Plus he had an anti-Bush special on HBO and on Broadway. His BDS is probably worse than Garofalo’s or Olbermann’s.

The media is telling us that he’s funny but just like Colbert or Stewart, only weak-minded people will think those libs are funny.
