A 42-year-old Detroit-area woman is facing murder charges for allegedly stabbing her father to death over a dinner roll.
Ava Gordon will be arraigned Thursday on charges of second-degree murder.
Prosecutors allege Gordon stabbed Greg Gordon to death Monday night after he accused her of eating a dinner roll he was saving.
Investigators say the 62-year-old man put a note on the piece of bread asking her not to eat it.
She couldn’t help killing him, she was on a roll.
He should have used reverse psychology and told her to eat the damn thing or she was grounded. (yes I know she’s 42). But she wouldn’t have eaten the roll because dad demanded her to.
It gets boring in that town. They roll up the sidewalks at 7 p.m. She needed some excitement.
Wonder if her prison nickname will be “Muffin”?
Picture or not, Guilty!
I remember a similar news story a few years ago - a guy shot his brother over the ownership of a loaf of sourdough bread.
MELVINDALE, Mich. -- Prosecutors said Wednesday that a Detroit-area woman was arraigned on murder charges in the fatal stabbing of her father after an argument over a dinner roll.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged 42-year-old Ava Maria Gordon of Melvindale with second-degree murder. She was arraigned Thursday in district court in Allen Park.
Police responded to a home on the 24000 block of Outer Drive Monday morning after a man called 911 and said he had been stabbed in the stomach.
When police arrived they found the victim, Greg Gordon, with multiple stab wounds. He was transported to an area hospital, where he later died.
Ava Gordon was found hiding in a wooded area behind the home. She was also taken to the hospital and then to the police station.
Police said Ava Gordon told them that the shooting was sparked over leftover food.
She said she ate a dinner roll that her father had been saving for later, even though it had a note on it advising her not to eat it.
Neighbors said Ava Gordon moved back into her father's home about 7 months ago.
Police said she also fired a gun but apparently didn't hit her father.
The perp.

Deplorable. Are you sure this didn’t happen at the Parker House?
Maybe the man saw an image of Elvis on the dinner roll. He wanted to save it so he could sell it on eBay.
Yeah she wasn’t about to be rolled over a note.
Something tells me we won’t be seeing that Pillsbury Crescent Rolls commercial where the two boys are fighting over the last one at the table any time soon ...
ROFL! Where the heck did you find that?
That's from a couple years ago when we investigated the Doughboy's death. Remember?
Woman was definitely, ill-bred.
