My nephew is recommending I buy a Epson Artisan 700 all in one to scan several hundred old photos to my iMac. Do you have a opinion on it?

Didn't you know that all nuclear missiles are programed to play Wagner's
"Ride of the Valkyries" while in flight???
Recording is copyright 1921 and is in the Public Domain. Of course, the quality suffers a bit, being 80 years old.

However, it does not seem to have a slide scanner and you may need that for your photo work. If you already have a printer, take a look at Epson Perfection V300 Scanner with transparency for $99. Use the difference to buy a separate printer if you need one.
