Violent Abortion Protesters and Taliban Bear Striking Similarities
Salem-News.com ^ | June 1, 2009 | Tim King

The man accused of murdering an abortion doctor Sunday drove away from the crime scene in a powder blue sedan with a Jesus fish on the back.

Reformation Lutheran Church in Wichita, Kansas The Website dr-tiller.com listed this photo as "Churches that Defend and Comfort Tiller" with its name and address boldly published above it. Perhaps the way the Taliban dance and celebrate the deaths of U.S. soldiers, the people affiliated with this site will celebrate the death of Dr. Tiller. Their obvious intent with the stated caption was to send troublemakers toward this church. Maybe it inspired the murder of Dr. Tiller.

(SALEM, Ore.) - I see no difference between abortion protesters who murder doctors, or support the act, and the Taliban. They're the same people on a different day in a different place.

Like the old saying, "they went to different high schools together", each centers around the notion that they, the conservative religious figures, have the fundamental right to control and therefore reduce, the rights of women.

51-year old Scott P. Roeder of Merriam, Kansas, the accused murderer in the shooting death of Dr. George Tiller, drove away from the Reformation Lutheran Church in Wichita, Kansas in a powder blue sedan with a Jesus fish on the back.

I liken this man's religious leaders and teachers to the Mullahs in Pakistan, who instill a murderous hatred of "infidels".

Each are no more than religious extremist fundamentalist criminals, falsely convinced that they have to personally live out a violent mission as mortal humans on the earth. All in God's name of course. I sincerely doubt that God thinks very much of it.

Dr. Tiller's death this weekend marks the fourth time a physician who provides abortions has been murdered. There are others who have been shot and survived, as Dr. Tiller also did several years ago. There are at least eight documented murders of people who work in clinics. There was no accurate number of how many women may have been killed by protesters while attempting to seek an abortion.

Insha'Allah? Yes and no. I suppose everything that happens on earth can somehow be connected to "God's Will" - but we as people have the ability to make choices based on sound reasoning and any person hearing voices in their head that instruct them to kill, is off their rocker, or heavily influenced by some authority figure, which in this case is generally the church or mosque.

I'm curious. Can "Violent Abortion Protestors" be expected to kill random members of the population at large?

Nice spin. Calling pro-lifers the Taliban.

Of course he is full of crap, but he does a pretty good job of smearing all religions with the brush of his ridiculous notion.

There is the minor difference that the only group I know of supporting or cheering his actions is the Westboro nutcase group.

That said, I’m curious as to the exact rationale by those who classify abortion as murder, yet denounce the killing of Dr. Tiller.

If one were to shoot down a man in the process of killing a three year old, one would be acclaimed as a hero. If abortion is indeed murder, why is the killing of an abortionist not equally justified? Other than such a position being politically unpopular.

Anyone who didn’t see this coming is truly blind, especially those who applauded the killer’s actions.

Yes, but only if we as Conservatives rise to the bait. Nobody in their right mind would be happy that this Doctor had been murdered. Certainly no Christian would. And certainly no law-abiding Citizen would. Murder is wrong.

Conservatives aren’t into extra-Judicial taking of human life — whether it be abortion or gunning down doctors who commit abortion. We deplore both because both are murder.

Would Mr King support “Violent Abortion Protesters” being waterboarded to reveal plots for future violent attacks on abortuaries?

Decisions, decisions

Well, of course they’re going to do that. The guy who killed Tiller had lots of obsessions and was clearly a nutcase; but unlike Ted Kazcinsky, who killed people and was a nutcase, but had the “right” obsessions, he will not be treated as a nut, but as a legitimate representative of the pro-life movement.

Kazcinsky’s radical environmentalism was much favored by the media. The Times even gave him the front page to print his environmental screed and there were many admiring comments about it. The words could have been put in the mouth of Al Gore without any problem. Yet the fact that he killed and maimed people for his environmentalist beliefs was never connected with his cause or with other environmentalists (such as Al Gore).

Killing a 3 year old is illegal. Killing a 9 month old who has not emerged from the uterus is legal.

The US government and the USSC created conditions under which George Tiller was acting legally. Therefore killing George Tiller was a crime.

We don’t need or want vigilantes to get people likw George Tiller out of business, we need and want a change of law.

Most reports indicate that the suspect has not been charged with anything yet. But many headlines suggest otherwise.

“Violent Abortion Protesters and Taliban Bear Striking Similarities”

They should be glad that this is not true.

I remember seeing an image of Pluto smashing in to Earth with the caption “keep calling Pluto an asteroid and it may start acting like one.”

Not near as much as the the pro-abortionists and the butchering Communists of past regimes have in common.

“I liken this man’s religious leaders and teachers to the Mullahs in Pakistan, who instill a murderous hatred of “infidels”.

Of course, in no way would that compare to Rev Wright or president Obama’s Church with it’s loving and respectful Black Liberation Theology, absolutely cheering on the actions of the 9/11 terrorists.
