I had a work pal 1 time. She was very bombastic and outspoken.
She said when she had fat friends who asked if some sweater made them look fat, she told them, “No; you ARE fat”.
I am not this woman. Never have been! I think the stereotypes are funny anyway.
Another difference: Women live longer then men. They don’t live with women.
No, just pointing out there aren’t many differences as one thinks.

That cartoon sure has a lot of truth in it. Even lovely women find fault with themselves, but men seem readily able to overlook the odd forty pounds, or a beer gut, and still see themselves as appropriate companions for gorgeous younger women.
You said it exactly right. I mean no disparagement towards men but it is just a different mindset I guess.
Women are critical of themselves and of other women too I believe.

I never had to ask that ‘dress’ question so I find it funny.
I’m not sure that either approach is completely healthy. Vanity is a sin, but it takes different forms; the woman who obsesses over every once and hair, thinking herself flawed, is in her way as vain as the man who is losing his looks and still thinks he’s a hot young stud. But I think that the female lack of self-esteem about appearance is found more often in the US and UK than in the rest of the world, while the vain man is found everywhere.
This is just my experience, your mileage may vary.

That is a question that often finds it’s way - one way or another - into a TV series or movie -
I also think some women will find ways to criticize a man somehow - and go bonkers if the man simply tells them to look in the mirror
