Thanks for the warning. I miss the internet of the mid-80's when it wasn't full of criminal idiots. The invention of HTTP and browsers certainly attracted lots of riff raff. I'm not exactly pining for a return of e-mail based on UUCP and dialups, but my e-mail was less cumbersome. The stuff from humans was relevant. The machine generated stuff was often simple warnings about a full disk or a printer out of paper. No ads for pecker pills, fake watches, penny stocks or amazing diet supplements.
