Do you remember anything that he/she said?
Haven’t a clue today. Don’t remember a word. Not even sure we had one.
some ATT executive
don’t remember
Ernesto Zedillo
Nice!
Mine was a former speechwriter of Reagan’s, can’t remember her name...NOT Peggy Noonan though.
I’m envious.
Nolans’ last words,”Go to school or quit”.Best advice I ever took.
That would be my excuse as well, except I never attended a commencement. That includes elmentary school, high school, undergraduate, masters program and doctoral program. Just throw me the damn sheepskin! I was always ready to leave childhood for adulthood.
lol!
I used to work at a University and would usually take off for an hour and see the commencement speech. Got to see Nelson Mandela, Alan Greenspan, Kofi Annan, John Lithgow, and a few I cannot remember. Couldn’t quote anything specific from them though.
Steve Allen. He said “Smock smock”.
the guy who ran fed ex at the time...can’t think of his name...but I’m sure the topic was something along the lines of hope and change...or some other claptrap...
GW Bush. I remember him giving amnesty to all the underclassmen. I Was more focused on seeing West Point in my rear view mirror than listening intently. My chain of command would let me know the take aways.
We had guiliani at grad dinner and regretably I don’t remember much of that one either. Probably why I graduated in the bottom quarter of my class. Not the goat but still addressed as Sir.
Peter Drucker
Robert Kennedy. Don’t remember a word he said. But then, life’s to short to pay attention to Kennedys. Even back then.
My University was so big that the people who went to the ceremony got a rolled up blank sheet of paper.
I stayed home and later that afternoon was sworn in with my Commission and then I went home and prepared to go back to active duty.
My actual sheepskin arrived in the mail two days later as I held a party for my ROTC friends by making homemade pizzas and watching a John Wayne marathon on TV.
I achieved the ultimate class cut..... I cut graduation.
On that day, 280 miles away, I got married.
I didn’t go to my high school graduation (if you want a nice family graduation dinner DURING graduation is a great time, restaurants are empty) and didn’t finish college, so I got no idea.
For my master’s degree in 1992, the commencement address was given by Rick Perry, then the Texas Agriculture Commissioner. Thoroughly forgettable.
