Something to definately think about. I wonder if Social Security is even going to be there in 2-3 years.

Thanks JoeProBono.

"Unusual Strategies for Claiming Social Security Benefits..."

Here's my "unusual strategy" for claiming Social Security benefits: Since I was thirteen years old I have been paying into this fraudulent scheme to the tune of over sixty thousand dollars to date. If I had put that money into an even modestly profitable investment, I would be looking at a decent retirement account by now. Instead, the money is not only gone but my children are now in debt past their own lifetimes. Who's to blame? WE FREAKING ARE! For putting up with this idiocy from our government for the last forty years.

My new strategy is to make sure that the "government" doesn't receive another dime of my money. Comments? Questions? Does anyone want a mint?

Strategy 4: Renounce your citizenship, become a citizen of a Latin America country. Sneak back into California, fall down on public property. Apply for disability and all of the other programs available to illegals.
Spend the rest of your life living good.

There is only one thing I regret about retiring at 53. I should have done it 10 years sooner.

If you’re still working, remember my words... you might be surprised as to how much you will agree with them.... then.

I have absolutely no faith in ever getting any Social

Security. This is a scam coming to a head and with the

comming totalitarian existence we are going to see, we will

live at subsistance levels ...... if the powers that be

are even that benevolent. Sorry, but that’s the way I see

it.

I’ve got ten years to go before I can retire per the established rules. I’m highly skeptical that there will even be a Social Security benefit available for me by that time.

I’m seriously looking at trying to get back some of what I’ve paid in starting now. Better some, than none at all, I would think.

Hang it up dude, you're not going to see one penny of it because its just not there. The politico cretins that have been running our government have spent every last dime to further their own short term objectives and the chickens are truly about to come home to roost.

Oh, I could see some of it, if I applied for it now. I'd get a far reduced rate for applying early, of course, but that's better than not seeing a penny of it when I hit 65.

Matter of fact, I just got a statement from them a couple of weeks ago. I ought to open it and see where I'm at.

Mmmmm... Pie. I'll make sure I tell my creditors that the next time a payment is due. ;-)

In regards to the Social Security System, I would apply the exact same strategy which would have been appropriate if I had discovered, in the summer of 2008, that my financial advisor, Berny Madoff, was in actual fact perpetrating a Ponzi scheme: I would attempt to extricate myself from it as quickly as possible, stop making payments, pull out whatever scraps of my money were still available, and invest the money elsewhere, even if I could get only 0% interest.

Regards,

This reminds me of the Norwegian joke: “That Ole, he's so lucky. He buys a new life insurance policy, and then a week later, he dies.”

The above statement could have been typed by me by changing the number 53 to 54.

And I'm a tad jealous of that extra year you got on me!
