Something to definately think about. I wonder if Social Security is even going to be there in 2-3 years.

Thanks JoeProBono.

"Unusual Strategies for Claiming Social Security Benefits..."

Here's my "unusual strategy" for claiming Social Security benefits: Since I was thirteen years old I have been paying into this fraudulent scheme to the tune of over sixty thousand dollars to date. If I had put that money into an even modestly profitable investment, I would be looking at a decent retirement account by now. Instead, the money is not only gone but my children are now in debt past their own lifetimes. Who's to blame? WE FREAKING ARE! For putting up with this idiocy from our government for the last forty years.

My new strategy is to make sure that the "government" doesn't receive another dime of my money. Comments? Questions? Does anyone want a mint?

Strategy 4: Renounce your citizenship, become a citizen of a Latin America country. Sneak back into California, fall down on public property. Apply for disability and all of the other programs available to illegals.
Spend the rest of your life living good.

There is only one thing I regret about retiring at 53. I should have done it 10 years sooner.

If you’re still working, remember my words... you might be surprised as to how much you will agree with them.... then.

I’ve got ten years to go before I can retire per the established rules. I’m highly skeptical that there will even be a Social Security benefit available for me by that time.

I’m seriously looking at trying to get back some of what I’ve paid in starting now. Better some, than none at all, I would think.

In regards to the Social Security System, I would apply the exact same strategy which would have been appropriate if I had discovered, in the summer of 2008, that my financial advisor, Berny Madoff, was in actual fact perpetrating a Ponzi scheme: I would attempt to extricate myself from it as quickly as possible, stop making payments, pull out whatever scraps of my money were still available, and invest the money elsewhere, even if I could get only 0% interest.

Regards,

This reminds me of the Norwegian joke: “That Ole, he's so lucky. He buys a new life insurance policy, and then a week later, he dies.”

If you read up on the term “Quantitative Easing” you’ll see that trying to squeak a few more dollars out of SS is total waste of time. It will make a lot more sense to learn how to repair your car, do plumbing, electrical work, etc. And if you do have spare money now, then buy EVERYTHING you can think of, because it will never be this cheap again for decades.

We’re moving into a new paradigm and today’s America will soon be unrecognizable.
