Oh. All these are FREE, and completely compatible with all your documents, and with all your peers who are still using MS Office.

I have a bought and paid-for set of install CD's for MS Office, but just gave up because of all the troubles and all the bloat, as well as exactly what you have going on now.

And they both suck. If I could get office for free or openorifice I would take office no questions asked.

I second the OpenOffice.org solution. Completely compatible with MS Word.
