Adventure enthusiasts who think they have gone through it all, should get ready to dive in with sharks at the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo at The Dubai Mall. The mall launched its first shark dives as part of the Festival at The Dubai Mall on Saturday.
The shark dive gives thrill seekers the opportunity to swim amongst 33,000 aquatic animals within the 10 million-litre tank at Dubai Aquarium.
Divers can explore the aquarium while coming face-to-face with resident sand tiger, reef, Leopard sharks, giant groupers and stingrays, among others.
The dive is organised in association with Al Boom Diving.
Shark dives at Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo are open to all, with non-certified divers being offered the opportunity to take a short course provided by Al Boom Diving at their branches at Al Wasl Road or at Dubai Marina Yacht Club.
Nasser Rafi, Chief Executive Officer, Emaar Malls Group, said, The shark dive, introduced for the first time in the Gulf region in a mall environment, will offer visitors a new and adventurous leisure choice.
Arif Amiri, Senior Director, Emaar Properties PJSC, said, With the launch of shark dives, we are offering the opportunity for all to have an incredible diving experience in an aquarium environment.
He added, Apart from having trained staff members from Al Boom Diving to assist the public, shark diving is being undertaken to the highest safety standards. All appropriate training and equipment are provided and this opportunity is available to certified and non-certified divers as well.
Qualified dive masters and instructors from Al Boom Diving will be present throughout the diving experience. Advance bookings are required for shark dives.
All better.

Special discount for jooooossss.
Wow, shark diving. And all I wanted was a slice at Sbarros.
Sand Tiger... as in “Rag-tooth shark”. Not to be confused with a (simply) Tiger Shark — which is one bad-@ssed fish!
Hmm... not sure what I want to say about this.
Geez, they could probably come to washington and swim
with senators for free.
Or Hans Brix.
Perhaps they are looking for an entertaining way to feed their sharks while making money at the same time. As we keep saying, “stupid should be painful”.
Al Boom?
Al Pass.
I'll tell you what - it is safer than having invested in the Dubai property market. Not all sharks are in the water ...
