Two Hollywood stars are stepping up to help an elderly woman in need. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet have pledged to help Millvina Dean. She is the last survivor of the Titanic.
Millvina was sent to a nursing home in the English city of Southampton after breaking her hip three years ago. Since then she has struggled to pay the fees.
She has already sold several Titanic mementoes to raise cash, but is still short. There are reports that the Hollywood stars pledged "considerable donations" towards the $30,000 fund to help keep Millvina in her nursing home.
Kate and Leo said in a statement that they hoped Millvina could rest easier knowing that her future was secure. The Millvina Fund was launched Monday in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

In what film did he play a “raft”? That would be the best acting he ever did.

Give them a break, how much did you donate to this woman? I say when liberals do use their own money to help someone we shouldn’t bitch about it. Cast the first stone you better have impeccable giving credentials!

The movie made $600,779,824. That's what I was thinking! With all the money they made on this movie they should buy this lady her very own care center.

I agree, what the he** was the name of the film where he played the guy(kid actually)who forged all those airline checks and took millions of dollars from the airlines? Later the guy ended up working for the Feds as an expert on forgery. The kid was only about 16 when he started. It was a great movie and based on fact.
While I hate liberal actors political views some of them can actually act!

I liked him in “Gangs of NY” and “The Departed”. Haven’t seen Aviator.
Kate Winslet I liked in pretty everything except “Heavenly Creatures”, though I have not seen “The Reader”.

Yes, that is the movie, I thought he was good in that one. however if he is a liberal I don’t embrace him. I do see that he should be slapped on the back for this contribution, if people don’t like it, let them give more.

They’re not talking about the WHOLE $30K, they’re just talking about ‘substantial donations’ toward the fund. That’s cheap; they could each afford to foot that entire amount, and not notice it gone from their net worth.

The guy, although 16 and up, got away with much of what he did because he looked much older than he really was. DiCaprio looked too young.
