Bikers are frustrated that Myrtle Beach has effectively tried to shut down the world's largest Harley-Davidson rally.

I dont know about the/any biker culture at present. But for me it is the ride not the destination, that is the reason to choose the bike experience.

This biker group is not the problem in Myrtle Beach. It is a money maker for the town. What they are really trying to shut down is the very large “Black Biker’s” group (that gathers there also) due to excessive crime, violence and generally depraved behavior.
They can’t stop one and not the other. It would be discrimination don’tcha know.

I moved to Myrtle Beach in 1976 and lived there until 1987, running charter and commercial fishing boats out of Murrells Inlet and Georgetown. Back then it was a quiet and peaceful place to get away. In the winter the area absolutely died and we almost starved to death. Now I hardly ever go back, preferring the serenity of Western Kentucky when we can afford the occasional vacation.

Go down the road to my hometown of Georgetown instead. Just 30 minutes away and the beaches are nicer.

Hey!I don't blame the town for having a noise limit on these motor cycles.I like motorcycles as much as I like Jet Planes but I don't like having the racket they put out when its not necessary.
There is NO reason for a motorcycle to be uncomfortably noisy for the general public..
I'm sure motorcycles and the public could get to appreciate one another if they were quieted down to a reasonable level.Like below 90 decibels.
