Meghan McCain: Don't look at us like 'dirty moderates' [Sen. McCain chimes in too]
CNN - Political Ticker ^ | 2009-05-02

(CNN) — Meghan McCain, daughter of former Republican presidential candidate John McCain, said the GOP is going to have to become more inclusive if it wants to rebuild.

“I just wish that moderates like myself — more moderate Republicans and more socially liberal Republicans — weren’t looked at as, ‘Get rid of the dirty moderates. Get rid of them,’” the 24-year-old told CNN affiliate KTAR radio in a joint interview with her father.

“We need to be an inclusive party. We need to be an umbrella party. We need to inspire 20-somethings, which is something the Obama campaign did very well,” she said on the "Mac & Gaydos" show.

“And it’s not that I think that our message is neither good nor bad — I just think it’s that the Democrats package their message better, and I think if we could be able to communicate with my generation, the Republican Party can really rebuild itself,” she added.

Asked about the coverage she’s been getting for the GOP, McCain said she feels like she’s “speaking out for a lot of young people that don’t feel spoken for.”

Do you think Palin we’ll be able to recover from the BS attacks?

I hope so.

I am sure that Meghan speaks for all of her class of young person: shallow, super wealthy children of losing GOP Presidential candidates. Since the cause of dear old dad’s loss could not be dear old dad, it must be the fault of the GOP in not being more like the winning party and cool with the Daily Show generation.

(It’s not easy when you are a fat girl whose only claim to fame is a father who lost the election to Obama and the Congress under his gang of whatever to the Democrats.) I want to go on teeeeeveeeee. I want to be famous and go to parties with the beautiful people of my economic class.

Ms. McCain, your 15 minutes are up. Please go back to doing whatever it was you were doing before Daddy decided to run for President.

Psh.

The elder McCain is implicitly sanctioning his daughter's continued attacks against conservatives because he himself can't say or do anything of substance without risking his re-election prospects in 2010.

As for that "obsession," I am "obsessed" with making sure the lights stay on through the 2010 elections so the RINO roaches have to keep running for new cover. Furthermore, I am thoroughly pissed because Rat saboteurs like Meghan proclaim that they speak on behalf of their entire generation, including younger folks like myself.

If McCain is defeated in 2010, his daughter will be forced to go away by the media; if not, then expect the media to prop her up as a prospective future presidential candidate (or, at the very least, replacement candidate for her RINO dad's Senate seat).

Do you think Palin we’ll be able to recover from the BS attacks?

They are the least of her worries. Where she needs to focus her efforts, as she is doing so magnificently, is showing how effective a leader she is and how very able she can govern.
Her speech recently to the Right-To-Life org in Indiana was an excellent post-election foray back into the national spotlight. When one listens to Sarah Palin they are hearing the words of her heart. The Katie Courics of the world are defenseless against this.

Now, our job, CommieCutter, is to promote this grand lady however we can, minding that we do so in the most honest and respectful way.

Accentuate the Positive!

I hope you don't mind this. I found it recently. It is NOT for family viewing but based on your comment I thought you might enjoy it.

Here's a link to something similar.

“We need to be an inclusive party. We need to be an umbrella party. We need to inspire 20-somethings, which is something the Obama campaign did very well,” she said on the "Mac & Gaydos" show.

If folks want to be in the Republican Party, even if they don't agree with everything the Party stands for, that's fine, but they shouldn't try to mold the party to THEIR whims. They also shouldn't publicly repudiate the Party, if they don't agree. The Republican Party should stand for something that is DISTINCT from the Democrats, otherwise, why would anyone be interested?

What Meghan McCain and others want is to have a Republican party that makes it easy for them to keep their liberal ideas, without them being challenged. They don't like the idea that their Party stands for ideas that make their liberal friends uncomfortable, because that makes THEM look like the rubes they think conservatives are.
