As a Freeper for 10 years, I say “no.” Keep it Simple, that’s why I prefer FR over other forums.
99% of the time I don’t watch video responses. They take too long and get in the way of other activities. You can split attention between reading a response and other activities — a video is too much hassle.
There is an embedded video right here on this thread at the top where FR is asking for contributions, so why not allow them inside user posts ? Besides, we already post static images, what’s wrong with video ?
Simple solution to that: put an option in the account settings to turn it on or off.
FR should join this century and have embeds. It’s hardly cutting edge technology and if you don’t want to click it, you don’t have to.
Agreed. If you have multiple imbeds, your browser might try to play them all at the same time.

Ditto that. I don’t like the “embedded videos” about “contributing to FR”, because they make wheel-scrolling down the page impossible (the cursor always stops on the video, when I want to scroll past). NO!!! There’s too much video on here already.
