In her new memoir, Resilience, John Edwards' wife, Elizabeth, said she was sick to her stomach when her husband confessed his affair with videographer Rielle Hunter.
She writes, "I cried and screamed, I went to the bathroom and threw up." Which is probably the same way her husband reacted when the National Enquirer broke the story of his affair and chased him through a parking garage at the Beverly Hilton.
Elizabeth, who has an incurable cancer, said Hunter seduced her husband by telling him he was "so hot" and that though John confessed the affair to her in 2006, he "left most of the truth out" telling her he had only been with Hunter once.
She never names Hunter in the memoir, but calls her "pathetic."
Yes, and unfortunately sometimes birds of a pathetic feather flock together, and then one pathetic bird can't stop lying, and maybe accidentally has a baby with the other pathetic bird, but thinks he can keep it all under wraps and insists on running for president for some reason, embarrassing his wife and children when he is quickly found out.
Throw their nest at a passing 18-wheeler, Elizabeth.
I heard it made Rielle throw up, too.
We had a tough time keeping it down, as well....
They both make me sick - karma sucks doesn’t it Lizzie....
Better late than never. A better woman might have experienced similar reaction the first time John Edwards asked her out on a date.
Almost was President....
Who in their right mind thinks that people want to read about her VOMITING?
Just gotta love this season of FEELINGS.
I prefer reading about character.
>>when the National Enquirer broke the story of his affair and chased him through a parking garage at the Beverly Hilton
I’ve just got an image in my mind of this as a TV show. Dramatic music swells as the suit-clad politician dashes between cars trying to get away from the press.
“Senator! Just one question! Senator! Senator!”
>>Hunter seduced her husband by telling him he was “so hot”
“I’m so pretty, oh so pretty” (see YouTube vid of vain Edwards)
>>he “left most of the truth out”
He would have made a great President, dont’cha think?
This is the kind of thread that makes FR worthwhile.
A strange & convoluted justice is here, somewhere.
This thread comes with its own Barf Alert.
Are you saying Elizabeth Edwards had an affair and deserved this?
I wonder what she did when the emails from the skirt showed up on the Internet, in which it was revealed that her pet name for Edwards was “Love Lips”.
My question is why did it take her so long?
When did the press know about the affair and how long did they deliberately mislead the electorate to keep Hillary in a 3-way fight for the White House?

~ GK Chesterton
Hunter seduced him......LOL
A trial lawyer.
Who “channels” the voice of dead children in court.
PUKE!
Which affair? The man or the woman?
OK, I’m sorry.
They were booked to give a speech at a speaker series at my alma mater (Salem State Coll. in MA). Then the scandal. Shortly afterwards, despite an original claim it would still go on,
it was cancelled (Geo. F. Will substituted...)

9/2/08:
>>It was expected to attract a huge crowd, so large in fact, college officials changed venues to double the capacity. But now Salem State College is scrambling to find a speaker after John and Elizabeth Edwards backed out of an appearance there later this month.
>>Students say they’re not surprised. “No, not really,” said junior Jeff Davidson. “Not with everything going on.”
This is the second joint engagement the couple has cancelled since John Edwards admitted to having an extra marital affair with a campaign worker. His wife Elizabeth is battling cancer. The college hoped the couple would go through with the speech about the presidential election and healthcare issues, but learned of the cancellation last weekend. “Whenever we have an event scheduled that’s cancelled, of course it’s disappointing,” said spokesperson Karen Cady. “But this happens all the time.”
(snip)
>>Judy Doherty of Peabody has a daughter who is a sophomore at Salem State. She said she wouldn’t want her daughter to go hear John Edwards speak because, “He’s not the type of leader for president, or a role model I would want her to look up to.”
