LA is a friggin Desert. It will turn BROWN if they do not water it. Trees will die, Freeway landscapes will go Brown.
Unemployment waits for the Illegal Alien yard mowers and Gardeners.
I’ve seen San Fran turn Brown in the drought of the late 70’s. LA’s personality will go ugly dead decaying Brown if the people can’t water it.
greenies at work.....doing their worst....WE LIVE ON A WATER PLANET PEOPLE !!!!!

Water cops!!! We had those in Colorado Springs until the year 2006 due to lack of snow in the mountains and the 10 year drought....$100 then $500 for wasting water along with sod and seed permits ...$50. But, not any more! We are at 120% snowpack and just had 4 feet last weekend and more coming this weekend. Guess we can start filling up Lake Powell and Lake Mead!

There is a more honest way to tackle the issue of the water shortages in S. California - a real issue - and that is simply to greatly raise the water fees the municipal water systems charge. Supply is NOT meeting demand, so raise the price until it does. If the price is right, people will, on their own, cut off the sprinklers before the bath or toilet.

But no; the politicians want water to be both priced-cheap (popular but stupid) AND highly supply-regulated, so that everyone knows they, the politicians, not supply and demand, are “fixing” the problem. /sarc

the city of Tampa, April 3rd, banned the use of all irrigation systems in the city limits. Use of soaker hoses and controllable spray heads attached to hoses may only be used in plant/flower/shrub beds. Only controllable spray heads may be used on turf grasses. We have one day a week in which to water between 6pm and 8am. It takes me 2 hours to water the yard. Thank God for mp3 players.

Isn’t this just until the water shortage is over. For example, I remember in the 80’s our suburb would not allow us to water our laws from 1000-1800 everyday during the summer. This is just hoping that the water does not run out.

Your water has to go to those solar panels in the desert. ———>Park Service warns of solar projects’ impacts to Mojave Desert - An estimated 63 large-scale solar projects are proposed for BLM lands in the region, and the plants are expected to use a large amount of groundwater to cool and wash solar panels..http://www.nytimes.com/gwire/2009/04/23/23greenwire-park-service-warns-of-solar-projects-impacts-t-10660.html
“Solar Industry Seeks Water Out West, Finds Little” The solar hopefuls are encountering overtaxed aquifers and a legendary legacy of Western water wars and legal and regulatory scuffles. Water is among the complications in deserts where more than 150 solar applications have been submitted for hot spots in Nevada, California, and Arizona, plus a few in New Mexico.

“As a result, the total annual water demand (50,000 afy) estimated for solar energy development projects in the Amargosa Valley cannot be fully sustained by the water that is theoretically available for purchase or lease in the basin (approximately 7,000 afy)”. (Not sure what that is in gallons, lol!)

And when citizens respond to their pleas by cutting usage, the city will want to hike the rates again because of falling revenue....
