There is no doubt in anyone's mind that leftists are complete and total hypocrites. They always have been, and they always will be.
Just for a moment, let's turn around the Miss America/Perez Hilton scandal. Let's suppose that a Christian became a judge (it could happen, there are a few popular ones in Hollyweird.) Let's also suppose that a "gay marriage" question is asked of one of the contestants. The contestant, who is leading, gives the standard leftwing drivel ("everyone should love everyone and let everyone do whatever they want to do, and make everything legal, except being mean to leftists".) The answer is as lucid and poised and any other contestant, just leftwing drivel.
The Christian judge proceeds to give the candidate a very low score (maybe even a zero.) The Christian also gives an interview to the news media (700 Club?) indicating that she believes that "Miss America is supposed to represent traditional American values and this candidate did not represent those. The judge could not, in good conscience, give her a good score for that non-traditional answer. The judge also indicates that that score kept the contestant from winning.
The left wing would obviously go ape-sh!t demanding the contestant be given the crown, the judge be censured, sued, etc.
How do FReepers respond to this judge? With the same disdain we had for Perez Hilton? Do we find a way to justify the judge's actions?
This is "General/Chat". At least I didn't post a vanity into "Breaking News." What else goes in "General/Chat"?
I doubt that I would feel as negatively about a Christian judge using his/her position to defend traditional values as I feel about a depraved judge using its position to defend depraved values.
I did dance around that. He targeted her with the question. My premis was that someone asked the question, not the Christian judge.
I have to agree. I can't avoid giving more leeway to conservative politicians than I will to liberal ones...
I completely agree.
Great point.
Interesting take. We decry perez, not for injecting his beliefs into the pagent, but because his beliefs are repugnant to us. Not sure I agree.
I agree. But if he/she didn't, would we (I?) trash them like we do perez? I'm not sure I could...
He was a judge, and the question was permitted. The decision to do so was not ours. We disagree with such politicization, especially since politics distinctly not to our preference came along with it. Hooting and jeering may move decision makers to avoid such things in the future. Either way, our displeasure has been registered. Nothing hypocritical about this at all.
Some of them are, undoubtedly. Of course, this holds true for every group in life.
I agree. But if he/she didn’t, would we (I?) trash them like we do perez? I’m not sure I could...
One is traditional American values.
The other is a valueless faggot agenda.
The term, "roosterfish" works well with respect to Ms. Hilton.
I disagree that there was nothing hypocritical about Ms. Hilton’s question. Shim knew that Miss CA was a Christian from her bio - he contrived that quesiton specifically for her in order to set her up. Regardless of what answer she gave - pro-homo or anti-homo, he was going to smear her on the internet. He is a self-hating evil person.
AIDS and so-called “Gay Marriage” killed my homosexual brother three years ago. He died because of his lifestyle choice.
So, naturally, I believe it is imperative that all public personalities speak out against the homosexual abomination and “Gay Marriage”.
God instituted the Sacrament of marriage. It is not something our government or judges can mess with.
This is what my church says about marriage, and this is what I believe about marriage. Marriage has nothing to do with homosexual behaviour:
“The bond and covenant of marriage was established by God in creation, and our Lord Jesus Christ adorned this manner of life by his presence and first miracle at a wedding in Cana of Galilee. It signifies to us the mystery of the union between Christ and his Church, and Holy Scripture commends it to be honored among all people.
The union of husband and wife in heart, body, and mind is intended by God for their mutual joy; for the help and comfort given one another in prosperity and adversity; and, when it is God’s will, for the procreation of children and their nurture in the knowledge and love of the Lord. Therefore marriage is not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly, but reverently, deliberately, and in accordance with the purposes for which it was instituted by God. “
Mega hyporites....that’s most politicians and CEO’s
small fry hypocrites are those who cheat on spouses or those who lie to get a job promotion
run of the mill hypocrites are those who sometimes throw a returnable bottle in the trash...
Your premise is so twisted and flawed, it smacks of degenerate reasoning. Perhaps you’ve coined a new ‘discipline’: deviancy apologetics.
Read the Trump site’s entertainment section on the pageant .. it is very politically correct. Shouldn’t be, but is.
You’re misreading my reply. The question was, are FReepers hypocritical for criticizing Perez. We’re not.
Fer a newb, yer damned sharp!
Ya took the words right outa my mouth ! Welcome to FReerepublic ! My heartiest welcome.
