Meat and fruit have long been culinary staples. When I played with the SCA, the pork and apple pies from medieval recipes were very big hits at feast time.

My mom used to put oatmeal in hamburgers before they went on the grill to keep them together. It worked, but I was not happy about it at first. I cooked ‘em up and didn’t notice the taste.

"Booren says the cherry burger looks and tastes the same as the traditional. Our panels, in blind studies, they preferred it over regular ground beef," said Booren." Not that I have a problem with mixing cherries or anything else with ground beef but if the cherry burger "looks and tastes the same as a traditional" how can it be preferred in a blind taste test? Ah the bitter taste of contradiction.

Heavens! This isn't such big news! Why, we've been a-putting fruit into meat for the longest time.
Nothing like fresh peaches mixed in with liver!
And....and.....pineapples in with blood sausage!
And of course, that old standby....green bananas in with yur ring baloney!
