After 26 years of marriage, well almost, and 28 years of being together, I STILL want my wife, physically, sexually, mentally, in ALL ways.
She says that she is MOST flattered by the attention that I give to her.
Her girlfriends want to know what her secret is. (Apparently their husbands do not pay attention to them the way I do my wife.)
We still hold hands in public, we still go on 'dates', we still thrill to the fact that we're in love.
The daughters used to get grossed out by the fact that we still appreciate one another physically, kissing in plain view of them, her sitting on my lap for a snuggle, etc.
Now they tell us that they appreciate the fact that we showed our love to each other openly, without getting down and nasty about it, and wish their boyfriend/husband would do the same.
It's not about the sex, although that's a nice side product. It's about the LOVE.
I got tears in my eyes reading your post. You know what I think is the most romantic thing ever??? When I see old people holding hands or when my dear daddy who had Alzheimers would kiss my mom and pat her on the arm.
My hubby and I are the same!!! We’ve been married 20 years this May and he still calls me “his beautiful bride.” He’ll say, “How’s my beautiful bride doing?” How can a woman NOT love that?
All I have to say is that this is what’s real - not the garbage we see in the movies.
God bless you both and may you have 28 or more years!
That’s what the difference is. Women generally love the affection. The holding hands. The kissing. So on and so on. Many times the complaints come about when a man misses out on all that, then wonders why a few grabs in the nether regions and him being excited just doesn’t do it for her.
I would imagine with some of the dull, uneducated sheeple, who idolize the current pop culture, that might be true.
It would be nice to not have the pretty face and hot bod involved, because you always wonder: Would he still want to be with me even without the looks?
It’s cousin to the word “sin”, which is loathed by modern moral relativists.
It’s a tough market, out there!
Better to rent than to buy.
I know about the hunt for the quote that one just saw
in passing, and the belated recognition of its quality.
The most memorable instance in my experience being Glen
Wishard’s classic on Politicism and the Twentieth Century
on his blog Canis Iratus some years back. Title is approximate.
Luckily I had noted some of the identifying info in list
of music or something of the sort. Best of luck in finding
yours.
I know what forum I saw it in. It’s just a question of dredging through several days of comments. I got a lot of other stuff I *have* to do!
