The title caught my attention and caused me to pull this article (during a slow news period). Now that I read the article I realize it isn't really red meat for activists. In fact is seems rather like standard Democrat B.S. from any era, that with a few minor alterations could be made into standard Republican B.S. from any era.
Well, it is what I have for today.

Very interesting and it's fitting that another article talks about how the tax burden at the time was the highest in history. Elect Democrats, get higher taxes and liberal policy.
There was also a statement about how voters didn't like it when Democrats acted like "ersatz Republicans". That's exactly the problem with the GOP. They want to be Democrat lite instead of conservative.

On the contrary, HJS. It serves to highlight the slimy Roosevelting way he backhanded his opposition as being aginst progress....very instructive to our condition today...the way the socialist talk always about economic justice as opposed to economic liberty....wish the GOP would understand that you must ATTACK THE PREMISE OF SOCIALISM or you fall into the trap of being attacked as just a weaker version of the same thing......I now see why the GOP was so dispirited during the FDR era. We conservatives had better learn that lesson fast. Great Post !
