The title caught my attention and caused me to pull this article (during a slow news period). Now that I read the article I realize it isn't really red meat for activists. In fact is seems rather like standard Democrat B.S. from any era, that with a few minor alterations could be made into standard Republican B.S. from any era.

Well, it is what I have for today.

tells others to get out... "When men are at variance with the course their party is taking, it seems to me there are only two honorable courses -- to join a party that more accurately mirrors their ideas, or to subordinate their prejudices and remain loyal."
IOW, the only reason one can disagree with FDR is their own prejudice. Thanks Homer_J_Simpson, love your list.

Pretty cool to look back and see what was really in people's minds at the time. Interesting that Roosevelt was so un-bipartisan. He was saying if you don't like the party's core principles, hit the road. Also interesting remarks from Alfred E. Smith that as late as ‘39 the country was still a mess. Shows Roosevelt hadn't fixed anything with the “New Deal”. Very revealing about the times.
