Quote from a site I ran across.
This is a great story. I know not only from my son in Iraq, but from my son that is stateside how important Navy Corpsmen, affectionately known as Devil Docs, are to Marines.
You guys are the Marine's doctors; There's no better in the business than a Navy Corpsman...." Lieutenant General Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller, U.S.M.C
Navy family ping list
We are a Navy family, but I will admit when we were overseas we were always jealous of the Air Force. They always got the best stuff. We drove all the way from the Sub Tender base in the middle of Scotland to the Air Force base in the southeast of England just to go shopping in their commissary a few times. And they had baseball diamonds on their base, we had sheep and grass and sheep and grass. I think it was a 6 hour drive, one way. Maybe he feels a little jealous?
I was in the navy myself 1968-1972, spent time off the coast of Vietnam on a destroyer. I think anyone who serves this country no matter the service is OK by me.
