The Freepathon Chet Challenge

As y'all know there is a Freepathon going on

and I thought it might be a fun idea to raise some contributions in Chet's name.

Kinda like making lemonade out of lemons.

As you might be aware, our buddy Chet like to post pitbull stories.

I'm suggesting to those who want to join in

that over the next week we set aside a certain amount of money each day to be donated to FR.

There can be 2 donation levels, one of $5/day and one of $10/day.

From those base levels we will subtract $1/day for each pitbull article that Chet post.

The folks at the $5/day level, if Chet remains consistent are likely to pay nothing.

For example Chet has posted SIX pitbull articles today,

Folks at the $5/day pledge level would donate nothing for today.

Folks at the $10/day pledge level would be on the hook today for $4

(course the day isn't over yet and Chet might post 4 more articles before midnight)

We'll start tomorrow and tally up the totals next Saturday,

post our results on the Freepathon thread and make our Chet Challenge donations.

It could also be the time when we make any additional donations in the name of all us dog lovers here on FR

I thought you reported that your problem moved away.

We can sympathize with your problem, but expecting others to hate
or to call for the extermination of a type or breed of dog,
because of a problem you’re having with an owner isn’t realistic.

Chet is OK. His stories are worthy of attention in exposing such savage incidents that occur in our society today. They point towards the element of humanity, barely, which use these animals as extensions of their own sick personalities.
Some would say - "Its not the dogs fault" - well, yes it is the dog that has done the deed. Thats what the dog knows as a natural reaction. Animals such as this do not belong in circulation in general society.
Or - "Its the owners fault for this" - Yes, yes it is. And, again IMO, the more light is shown on these societal dregs who own, train, abuse and encourage such behavior as this in their animals, the faster these deviants can be removed from the gene pool.
So, I think Cht is doing a service, albeit a rather unpopular one in some corners, by his focus on bringing these incidents to the attention of a larger audience.

And another thing - In reading Chets threads over the last several days, something came to my mind.
The arguments being made against Chets stories very closely resemble the arguments I encounter made by looney liberals against me as a conservative on other forum sites.
Ya'll might want to keep that in mind.

And no, for other reasons, I ain't gonna donate on Chets behalf.

That is entirely incorrect. You should revisit that point. Pits are not by nature human-aggressive.

I won't try to convince you that you are wrong; you seem to have your mind made up since you accuse pit owners of being delusional like liberals. You just don't realize that you are doing the exact thing you accuse others of, reacting based on sensational stories and emotion even though you clearly (based on your quote I posted) really do not know of what you speak.

As it turned out they hauled off/hid their “stock”,,,
(directly next door in the section 8/welfare house)

They are the ones that raise 30-35 pups Inside the house in

the back bedroom,,,3-4 litters per year,,,

hard to count,,,they will never get the stink out of that

place,,,they have to keep the front and back doors to be

able to breath,,,that’s what started this WAR when one of

the bitches ran out the front door and chased me-n-Harley

in the house,,,that’s when I put down the .45 and now carry

my .44,,,

The trash in the next house over had 3 pits,,,they did move.

I called the owner and he found his house destroyed inside.

He’s a 75+yo Vet and they depend on the rent...

these threads might have a little more weight if he could post all stories of all dogs biting people then see if there is a disproportional number of one type of breed more than others, but it seems dog bites man stories never get published anymore unless it's a Pit or a Rottie or a Dobie and such.

and there are millions and millions more mutts out there biting millions more people than anything else...

never owned a Pit but got a Rottie pup when the kids were small and they grew up together and they had a good level of protection whenever we were away from the house or inside.

that dog would never, ever, let neither man nor beast get anywhere near those kids without he gave his life first.

Keep what in mind?
You haven't described what arguments remind you of looney liberals.

Yes there is value in posting a report of a pitbull attack
but when some one posts nothing but pitbull stories numerous times a day
and refuses to report a death by another type of dog
then there is something amiss.

There is no analysis,
no description of salient factors involved in the attacks except for the type of dog,
no attempt to draw lessons that can be applied to lessening the instances of all dog attacks
Just deluge posting of whatever he can find on the net that is negative.

There is no balance.
There is never anything to be learned in a Chet post
except that pitbulls are (I'm paraphrasing) the devils spawn

It indicates an obsessive, emotionally driven fanatic
whose concerns aren't those of helping educate people
and preventing attacks but rather ginning up hysteria and fear
and whose ultimate goal is to restrict the property rights of law abiding responsible owners.

I've seen folks like him before.
There should be no pleasure posting stories of attacks
we only should do so because we have a responsiblity to investigate them.
There are some folks though who seem to derive a perverse
sort of glee when they come across a pit bull attack story
and the greater the damage to the victim
the more excitement they seem to draw from it.

Chet doesn't annoy me. If you know what his posts are about and don't like them, don't click on them...Toe nail fungus can be a big problem to some folks. Those that have it might appreciate a posting about cures...

I have had dogs all my life and don't find his posting offensive...Both dogs are rescues...love them lots.

If you think Pits are not human aggressive, what species keep having to go the hospital or morgue due to the breeds mauling? I also have a bridge in Brooklyn I have title to and will sell it to you cheap...all you have to do is make a toll bridge out of it and you could be rich.

Other articles about other animal attacks do get posted. By other people, thats their choice. If someone doesn't like Chets posts, don't click on them and then raise a stink because you don't like what was written...a reasonable person does not continue to click on posts that bother them.
