I was stationed in Aviano Italy for a few years in the 70’s and there was a great little pizza place called Matilda’s Hole in the Wall that catered to GI’s.........1 US dollar for a piazza con tutto (pizza with everything) ......about the size of a large dinner plate with a becks beer .
Returned last year for a visit and Matilda’s is still in business !
Best wood fired oven pizza I’ve ever had !!

I couldn’t believe when I saw this thread. I LOVE PIZZA and I eat it almost every day. I have so much to say on this topic, but I have a long list of errands today. Will post again on this later.
