TEA PARTY U.S.A. - It's about YOU the HARD WORKING TAX PAYERS!
My thoughts ^ | April 15, 2009 | Cindy

Posted on 04/15/2009 1:14:15 PM PDT by Cindy

Today, the voice of Americans was heard.

The Tea Party U.S.A. is not a one day national event -- it's the continuation of a chain of events and activism that will strengthen our country.

We are doing this primarily without main-stream media coverage.

That's o.k.

Your voice is being heard without the main-stream media.

Keep it up my fellow, patriotic Americans.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Hundreds of people gathered at the state Capitol to express their frustration with the Obama administration, and particularly its spending plans.

Despite the rain and cold Wednesday, the crowd waving American flags came out for the local version of a national day of protests that cite the Boston Tea Party as inspiration.

Hopeless vanity regarding Atlanta Tea Party. It has been estimated that about 15,000 - 20,000 people were present! This is true! Those organizers did an extremely good job!!

I’m too pooped to post the pictures. Tomorrow.

Phoenix, Arizona Tea Party Pictures, at the AZ State Capital

Posted on 04/15/2009 8:48:34 PM PDT by webschooner

I took these pics with my camera phone, and towards the end, it was getting dark, so they aren’t the best, but you can see that there were an awful lot of people there — some several thousands easily, I would say. It was very very crowded, and there were people of all ages, from very young, to very old.

In the last pic, J.D. Hayworth, now afternoon drive talk host on local conservative blowtorch KFYI, is speaking.

Enjoy!

“5,000 attend tax-day ‘tea party’ at Capitol (Denver)”
Denver Post ^ | April 15, 2009, 06:44:30 PM MDT | John Ingold
Posted on April 15, 2009 8:54:11 PM PDT by Red Steel

SNIPPET: “More than 5,000 people crowded onto the west side of the state Capitol this afternoon, as part of a nationwide string of tax-day protests dubbed “tea parties.”

Speakers at the protest, including a number of Republican activists, lawmakers and candidates, railed against current federal spending, President Barack Obama and Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter. They called the economic stimulus package fiscally irresponsible, and they accused politicians who supported it of ignoring the voice of the people.

“The people in power deceived us,” Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck told the crowd during the rally, “and we were complacent. We are complacent no more.”

Protesters at the rally carried signs with slogans such as “Obamanomics:

Chains we can believe in” and “We’re not Europeans, we’re Americans.” A number said they believe the president’s economic policies are pushing the nation toward socialism and financial ruin.

“It’s pretty sad that I’ve lived 65 years and never had a reason before to protest something,” said Bertha Holland, who carried a sign that read, “Don’t stimulate. Liberate.”

“What’s happening scares me,” she added.

The event was monitored by a number of Colorado State Patrol troopers and Denver police officers, although no incidents were reported.”

Great anger, but high spirits, at the West Palm Beach Tea Party
Original Reporting ^ | 04/15/02009 | David H Dennis
Posted on April 15, 2009 9:02:26 PM PDT by daviddennis

Massive crowds filled the main government plaza in West Palm Beach, and even rain failed to dampen the protesters’ enthusiasm to get the word out about their firm opposition to President Obama and his destructive policies. People are mad, furious, but still capable of having fun and staying positive despite our trying times.

There was no good news for President Obama. While the event was technically non-partisian, I saw little evidence of Democrats in the audience. While many quite reasonably said the two parties shared the blame for our current mess, agreement was unanimous that President Obama was seriously messing up the situation.

“Thousands are downtown for Tea Party [Dayton, OH]”
Dayton Daily News ^ | 4/15/2009 | Steve Bennish and Joanne Huist Smith
Posted on April 15, 2009 9:09:51 PM PDT by KarlInOhio

SNIPPET: “DAYTON — A crowd believed to be a few thousand has gathered downtown on Tax Day 2009 for the Dayton Tea Party on Courthouse Square.

The event going on this evening, Wednesday, April 15, was created in protest of what organizers call “runaway government spending.”

Rob Scott, one of the organizers, said petitions would be circulated in the crowd, calling for the repeal of economic stimulus funding or for governments agencies to refuse to accept stimulus funding.

People in the crowd offered their take on the event and its intended message.

“People are getting the same treatment as the Indian people,” Ricky Slow Elk, an American Indian from Ohio, said in answer to why he came out.

Bill Barga, of Coldwater, said he just sold a business he started and paid about $1 million in taxes.

He carried a sign that read, “Pelosi adopt me” in reference to U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California.

“I’m upset with our entire system,” Barga said. “It’s becoming more socialist with the federal government running things, and the state has no control.”

Darla Williamson of Piqua brought a sign that read, “Free markets not freeloaders.” She said the sign refers to people who don’t want to work and that the government has to bail out.

“What we’re doing right now is not the solution,” she said referring to the government bailout of businesses.

According to event organizers, about 7,500 people signed up to attend the event that is to run from 6 to 8 p.m., featuring speech making and musical entertainment.

About 2,000 attended a similar event — modeled after the Boston Tea Party tax protest of 1773 — held in Cincinnati’s Fountain Square this afternoon.”

Bakersfield California “Tax Enough Already!” protest

I came out early to see todays Tea Party in Bakersfield. It had a huge turnout. Hundreds at least with 5 lefties who wondered on in and then went to the fringe. (It got to crowded in the main square to move around by about 4:00 PM!). Congressman Kevin McCarthy came by along with local radio show host Jazz McKay. It got so packed I never even saw the two of them! I stayed pretty busy taking pictures so I have a sample of such below with running commentary.

The crowd was estimated at 7,000 I understand. A co-worker of mine ten floors up could hear the speakers better than I could. The crowd was not at full-size when this picture was snapped. I was stunned by the turnout, considering the weather.

Gulfport, Mississippi T.E.A. Party After Action Report
Vanity ^ | April 15, 2009 | Self
Posted on April 15, 2009 9:52:18 PM PDT by Islander7

It was a beautiful afternoon on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Nearly 2,000 “right wing extremists”, otherwise known as Patriots, joined in a movement to exercise their right of free speech. We gathered at the Gulfport Sportsplex, a super nice facility with soccer fields, baseball diamonds and huge water slides.

The Gulfport event was one of about 6 in the state. The Jackson event had about 2,000 attend also. I haven’t heard from from my contacts at the other events. Reports will follow as info is available.

There were a number of speakers who covered several issues including taxes, spending, too much regulation, too much intrusion, out of control government. The crowd was very well behaved (of course, we are patriots). It was nice see so many teens in the crowd who ‘get it’.

Enjoy the photos!

Thousands of patriots crowded into the the Douglas County Courthouse plaza this afternoon to “Say It Loud We’re Mad and We’re Proud”. The mood was festive but tempered by serious frustrations with profligate government spending, illegal immigration, a Byzantine tax code and a headlong rush to socialism by the Bush and Obama administrations. The photos speak volumes about the event. I love the smell of freedom in the afternoon.

We had an excellent turnout in beautiful weather. I was surprised by how many people showed up. For a city of 80,000 in an area that votes liberal, I was expecting a few dozen, but we had hundreds at least, and I heard some people say they thought we had at least 1,000 show up and many cars were honking and waving as they drove by. While there I got to talking with a guy who was from Russia. He said that he left Russia to escape Communism and now our government is trying to bring it here. He had a very interesting question: “Where am I going to go now? The moon?”

The meeting at the State Capitol had over 2,000 people attending and had most media outlets covering it. KeepArkansasLegal members attended and handed out information about illegal immigration. We also had an anti-amnesty banner. Afterwards, we went to the North Little Rock mailing facility and waved signs. Attached to this is a slideshow from both Tea Parties.
