German star arrested in HIV case

Nadja Benaissa sings with No Angels, Germany's most successful girl band (see Pic in URL)

A singer from the German girl band No Angels has been arrested on suspicion of infecting a partner with HIV, a prosecutor's office has said. Nadja Benaissa is suspected of having unprotected sex with three men without informing them she was HIV-positive, German media reported.

The 26-year-old singer was arrested on Saturday in Frankfurt before she was due to perform in a solo concert. She reportedly faces a possible charge of grievous bodily harm.

The prosecutor's office in the western town of Darmstadt said Ms Benaissa had been detained because of the "urgent suspicion" that she slept with three people between 2004 and 2006, without telling them she was HIV-positive.

At least one of the partners then tested positive for HIV, allegedly as a result of having intercourse with her, the office said in a statement.

No Angels formed in 2000 on the international TV show Popstars before recording a series of hits and emerging as Germany's most successful girl band.

Since it is nearly impossible to get aids from regular hetero sex i am guessing they did needles together or his door swings both ways, if you catch my drift.

Are you kidding?! Of course it’s possible to get AIDS from regular heterosexual intercourse. It’s more likely to be passed by a man to a woman, but it certainly is possible.

No, I am NOT kidding, and I did not say IMPOSSIBLE I said NEARLY impossible.

Ask any nurse you know who works in an aids clinic. It is a well-known fact among them, but not reported in the media. Then come back and tell me what they say.

If you hear different then I will be enlightened.

Isn’t HIV supposed to be some sort of status/victim/empowerment symbol, nowadays?

Since it is nearly impossible to get aids from regular hetero sex

To be a little more precise, it's a good deal more difficult for a man to get HIV from "normal" sex with a woman than from gay sex.

However, transmission from the man to the woman via normal sex is quite efficient.

Oh and I guess I also should have clarified- it is easy for a man to pass it to a woman via hetero sex, but ALMOST impossible for a woman to pass it to a man via hetero sex.

Much much more likely he is also a ‘catcher’ on the other team OR they shared needles.

No, it’s impossible to get AIDS from any kind of sex because AIDS isn’t a virus. HIV is the virus, and it’s possible to get it from any kind of sex, although the gender of both people, along with various other risk factors, can make it change dramatically. It’s not ‘nearly impossible’ to transmit HIV during regular hetero sex (do you really think there are that many gay people in Africa?), it just not as easy as it would be to transmit it during gay sex or by sharing needles or whatever. Plus, while it may be difficult to transmit it from a woman to a man in a ‘regular’ scenario, things such as piercings, minor injuries, certain ‘kinky’ behaviours, or some medical conditions can make it quite possible. So, unless we have all the intimate details of what went on between the two it’s difficult to estimate the risk factor, and HIV mutates so quickly by now it’s going to be very difficult to tell if she did give it to him or not.

Nearly impossible means that it is possible indeed, insertive vaginal intercourse is about as risky as insertive anal intercourse, the only difference is that there's a different prevalence for different groups. But as Benaissa IS HIV-pos., chances are about the same with her as with an HIV-positive gay man (given he's playing the receptive part).

However, before becoming a singer she (but not her partner) did crack.

You are correct that either a male or female who RECEIVES fluids can catch AIDS. Much easier for males, less so for females.

But the lowest statistical possibility is for male to contract it from a female from straight heterosexual sex.

In this case a man claims he got AIDS from a woman through normal sex. (i.e. HE did not receive any fluids)

All other possibilites (needles, etc.) are SIGNIFICANTLY more likely, by several orders of magnitude.

Ask any nurse.

There is a LOT of needle sharing going on in Africa. This is another hidden lie by the liberal media. They don’t have a good supply of clean needles.
