I am so sick of the poor writing skills. In just a brief skimming, I saw this:
Lana Clarkson was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time with Phil Spector who’s luck had run out.
&&&
Let’s see: Phil Spector who is/has luck had run out.
Is that what this person meant to say?
I took that to mean that after a long period (years) of playing this so called game with women..he lost the game. Of course Lana died. But up til the verdict came in this afternoon..a lot of people were betting this verdict to go the way of the first jury.
In my mind, Spector never figured on actually killing Clarkson that night. He just over played his sick game. Lana lost..that’s a given. But finally this ego maniac has lost. I don’t care how it’s worded. Phil Spector is headed for prison. His musical abilities, money and fame did not save his butt this time!
“Is that what this person meant to say?”
Yeah, I had to read that a couple of times, too. Either the writer is guilty of a dangling participle or left out a comma after “Spector.” In either case, it was Lana Clarkson who’s luck had run out, not Spector’s.
