I guess I don’t understand the nature of pissant’s complaint. I just did a search of your posts and they all contain a link which takes you to whatever blog contains the story.

When I look up to see where the posted article is from, I don't want to decipher the URL or click on the link, I want to be able to glance quickly where the article came from. Short and sweet.

Yes the source is very very important. A lot of people here decide not to read an article if it is not from a source they already feel pretty sure they’ll agree with.

OTOH most people don't take a bit of notice and take as absolute truth reports from less than totally unreliable sources.

That’s exactly my point. Not trying to make anyone’s life difficult; in fact, I think it makes it easier. I don’t post any BS. I really just don’t get pissant’s beef with me. FR is a comfortable place for me and I feel like I’m helping the movement.

I know I'm playing catch up here but really DrGop. you need to sit back and learn some of the FR etiquette before posting......such as: when mentioning a posters name in a post, it is considered a courtesy to ping them (add their name in the 'to' box as I have done) to the post or thread.

Well, I agree that there's plenty of disagreement, but I would say that as long as it's on philosophical points, political points, etc. it helps rather than hurts.

Getting personal and nasty, not so helpful.

But I LOVE the fact that there are disparate opinions on FR, and that they are (within wide bounds) tolerated and discussed.

If I wanted an echo chamber for my own opinions, there are plenty of other forums for that.

FreeRepublic is the best, in part because it has room for arguments among reasonable people who differ.
