Having spent the last century teaching the rest of the world how to function in a civilized, productive economic order, and having enriched much of it by outsourcing container-loads of our productivity and going into massive hawk, is the US now about to be, in a moment of mortal weakness, relieved of its role as benefactor of the world?
The G20 has agreed to capitalize the IMF with $250 billion in SDRs -- special drawing rights a composite currency, prototyped by the Euro.

really? do you think this is tin-foil hat material? It’s there in black and white from the G20.

:') A little, yeah. The British kept the £ and there's no political support in the US for abandonment of the dollar -- or at least, not more than there is for abandonment of our system of measurements in favor of the metric system (a transformation that was supposed to have taken place before our Bicentennial).
OTOH, I was also thinking about the jillions of topics regarding a multinational currency for the western hemisphere involving at least the US, Canada, and Mexico, a topic that surfaces once in a while, and bubbles up in topic after topic for a few weeks, then vanishes again for a while, so my apologies.
Here's a pretty plain logo I did for a possible currency / financial / economic ping list, but balked at starting one:

oh, okay, looks like I (or someone) uploaded it more than once:

that's the problem with tin foil hat stuff. it desensitizes to you the facts:
SDR's are happening, Everyone above and including Tim Geithner in pay grade is drooling for them, it's inevitable given the reasoning in the article which I think is sound if not exhaustive.
