Why I'm Leaving Free Republic

I am leaving Free Republic. After I post this message I will not come back and most likely ask the moderator to remove my account.

You may ask why. Today I posted a copy of a letter I received from an anti-terrorism officer in the United States Air Force. It was received through official channels but was not classified or top secret and I was granted permission to share it. It was an article concerning the possibility of a terrorist attack on American soil and it was pulled because, and I quote "Proven incorrect on snopes."

This is one time I am disagreeing with the moderator and his/her decision to pull the thread. This information was verified through official military channels and was supposed to help warn us to the imminent danger our country is in.

Instead, the moderator exercised, I felt, a lapse in judgment when he (or she) pulled the article that is in need of being disseminated. And this isn't the first time this has been done by moderators on Free Republic. While Free Republic has stood for conservative and GOP values it has also neglected it's responsibility to see that the information of the type I tried to share gets out. Instead they say it can't be verified and could be wild speculation (though I told them it was verified through official military channels) and pulled it even though I asked them not to.

So, I am saying goodbye. It was fun and I will treasure the friends I have made here on FR. Good luck to you all.

curious......... since you changed to your name to pctech in 2003 and you assert you had been here for some 4 1/2 yrs prior thats makes you one of the 1998 crowd. You are one of the early participants and I was curious as to what name you posted under back then? The older group is becoming smaller and smaller. Given that your original post on this thread was an ad-hominem attack on the moderators, all FReepers and the website in general it seems to me that falling back on the victim-card strategy of claiming to be under ad-hominem assault is the weakest of all replies. It falls to the most puerile and substanceless level of discourse possible. Lacking in inspiration and creativity it strikes also to the very meaning of hypocrisy in mere self-emulation of a pathetic attempt at criticism from the start.

Perhaps the best way to convey the essence of all of your posts here is through a graphic metaphor.

Look at it this way. Perhaps God, in his infinite wisdom, allowed the worst evil possible (Obama) to ascend to the presidency in order that His good subjects will get off their dead asses and take back the nation dedicated to Him and as conceived by the founding fathers. I find it odd, that everyone rants and raves about the mainstream media being biased, liberal, and worse...Which they are, yet we always have to wait for them to report, as if what they report is 100 percent true and accurate, as if they are the sultans of truth, and know better than all.

I’m not sure about “vindicated”... as the sourcing of the information is still quite a bit “sketchy”... It remains to be seen (according to some other posters there on that thread and what they were asserting) whether the *actual information* itself is “vindicated”.

While the poster may be quite well-meaning (and I have no reason to suspect otherwise), we’ve still got the “information” to deal with...

This rather lame "opus" as you put it, has ignited a spark with lots of people here on FR. While I fully intended to leave, so far I have not done so because many freepers have asked me not to, even begged. I still might but you never know.

If other kooks sites have picked up on it, well, that is unfortunate. But let me put the onus back on you; if you know which sites are referencing this, post the URLs, let us see what they're saying.

Yes it was, and I got my butt handed to me on many occasions, and justifiably so.

In sharing the article, there is a concern I have. I wish people wouldn't get hung up on is dates. People put dates on their predictions and when it doesn't happen when they say it would, they are immediately frocked, and sometimes justifiably so. I don't think we should look at the dates in this particular article, but what is being relayed. This nation is in danger and that's the message that should get out.
