N.O. man convicted of attack on tourist

An Orleans Parish jury Wednesday convicted a 24-year-old man of attempted first-degree murder for repeatedly shooting, cutting and threatening to kill a tourist he lured to an abandoned apartment in the Iberville public housing development in 2007.

His sister, Marijuana Rayfield, also testified for the defense that her brother couldn't have been involved in the crime that morning.

Regardless of this individual's guilt or innocence in this amazingly heinous crime, how stupid can you be to call a witness named Marijuana on your behalf? He deserves 50 years just for that.

OK. I’ve been waiting for this naming thing to come up. Nurse friend told me about a birth where, as the baby came out, one of the other nurses said, “and here comes a little mycomium”, meaning the first turd a baby has. Mother thought the name sounded cool, not knowing what it meant. So somewhere out there is a little Mycomium to go with the other made up screwy names there are.
