They are wisely responding to their customers demands as any smart business should. That doesn’t mean their customers aren’t ignorant.
Two good friends who are DVMs state plainly that Pit Bulls are no more naturally aggressive than Dachshundts.
The media has a meme and they stick to it. I wonder how often they report on attacks by other dogs... probably ignore those.
So a bunch of NPR listening, soy-latte sipping, doggie purse wearing, limp wristed yuppies don’t like my dog?
Aw, now I’m sad.
I’m a dog lover...except for pit bulls.
The American Straffordshire terrier is one of the most wonderful breeds in the world. Those who “breed” pit bulls take this great animal and abuse it horribly. People who have not encountered the real breed blather aimlessly on about ‘pit bulls’
Did you ever notice that the MSM never reports stories about a lab or a golden retriever that kills or maims a child. Instead, the MSM only reports when a pit bull kills a kid.
I more hate the average pitbull owner. They are the ones that believe that they have to train their dogs to live up to the reputation they have. I will add to that ... left alone all dogs are animals and that should not be forget. I have two children 14 and 15 and we have had two labs for years. The best blend you can have, but you still have to be cautious
Pit bulls aren’t even in the top 50 most popular breeds but account for about a third of deaths caused by dog attacks. These aren’t all the fault of the owners.
She’s and idiot, but it’s a private business, she is entitled to run it the way she chooses.

I think the important pit bull statistic is that they have a higher percentage of bad owners than other breeds, because of the reputation of the breed. That is, while four out of five pit bull owners love and care for their dogs, the other one of of five owners is getting a dog, not because he wants a dog, but because he has “issues”.
And any dog obtained for this reason is going to be screwed up. And this is important, because not all screwed up owners get pit bulls.
This is why people are screened before they are allowed to adopt children as well. If this were not the case, how many children would be adopted because their “parent” had some twisted and vile motive for “what they wanted the child to do.”
Imagine the monsters that would be produced if a child was chained in a backyard, and taught to be aggressive? If they got loose, they would be far more dangerous than a pit bull.
It's hard to take seriously the opinions of a bunch of yuppies who take their dogs to an indoor 'play park'. The owners of this facility have banned the dogs only to make everything more 'comfortable' for their yuppie customers.
That is not a commentary on pit bulls themselves, but on the silliness of lending any credibility to this particular ban.
