What the Albanians did wrong is they didn’t write a strong letter of protest to the League of Nations. That would have made the Italians behave.

Italian occupation was certainly preferable to what Albania had for forty years after the war. A Stalinist dictatorship.

After Stalin died, and Khrushchev denounced Stalin, Albania did become an ally of China-then Mao died, and then Albania basically had no allies at all.
