Standing outside the courthouse where Anna Nicole Smith’s former companion is facing charges of illegally furnishing her with thousands of prescription pills, a defense lawyer ripped into the state attorney general today for pursuing the case in what he described as “a blatant attempt to advance his own political career.”

I haven't been following this case much on account of not really giving a crap, but is this that Jerry Brown?

I do at least know that it's not that Howard Stern!

Probably. At any rate if it is THAT Jerry Brown he sure doesn't need THAT or the OTHER Howard Stern to advance his political career.

Jerry blows hot and cold on some things. On many law and order things he can be hard core.

I don't know why I know this, but yes, it's that Jerry Brown. And no, I don't believe he's acting purely out of political gain.

ANS was a train wreck. But these people were her enablers - others might use the term pushers. They certainly appear to have acted in a criminal manner, especially the physicians that are indicted along with Stern.

Regardless of what you think of ANS (and I don't think much), she and her son are dead and these people are criminally negligent or worse, IMHO.

Corrupt medical pros have often used their positions to take control of patient’s lives and thus their money. Most notorious was Brian Wilson’s shrink who kept him locked up for years in an attempt to get control of Brian’s millions. This happens more than most people think. Getting someone hooked on drugs for financial gain isn’t limited to the mafia.

Thanks for confirming. I can't believe he's still working for a living!

He must not be as old as think he is. I figured he was about 85 somewhere, eating applesauce and remembering the old days, when Linda Ronstandt was actually hot.

Didn't Elvis have a physician that kept him flush with drugs for large sums of money?

You've "missed" at least a dozen authors in the last 36 hours or so, including that Gannett article you thought you'd sneak by. .

Say that to Jim Robinson, troll. Do you think he can afford any more legal threats?
