"Hey, you hear about this? Very strange incident at JFK Airport in New York City today. An AIG executive going through security had to empty out all his pockets. You know what fell out? Senator Chris Dodd." --Jay Leno

Probably had a lot of cash in those pockets as well.

Hopefully the real falling out will be between chris and his constituents, who may have thought he was something besides the white collar criminal he has turned out to be.

Did he do his usual fair and balanced stand up? One zing against a democrat and three against a republican? Screw Leno.

Dodd is toast. Leno is a lagging indicator. He’s helping his party dump Dodd before the general election.

I believe in God and Senator Dodd
And keepin’ ol’ Castro Down.

You know what fell out? Senator Chris Dodd Obviously, it has become common knowledge to the general public that the "outrage" of the communists over the AIG "bonuses" (pay) is a phony as their Great Fuhrer, Hussein Øbama The Magnificent. How so?
The audience got the joke.

I doubt Letterman would say anything. For one thing he lives in Connecticut. For another, he's even more in the Democrat tank than is Leno.

The deficit was in moral reasoning, not education.

If they had checked done a cavity search they would have found Barney Frank up his anal orifice.
But you wont hear Jay making fun of Barney Fag.

Dodd will get the same kind of help from his party Joe Liebermann got a couple of years ago...which means he’s screwed.
To: Halfmanhalfamazing
Leno has some very good writers. And he seems to be fairly balanced in his ribbing.
To: mainepatsfan
Lieberman embarrassed the Democratic Party establishment. Dodd is the establishment.
Dodd’s chances of renomination may be contingent on his resolve to run again and whether or not he calls on his friend Ted to get involved. Ted could probably get Dodd through a primary challenge, but Dodd would be in serious jeopardy in a general election. Of course, the odds that Ted will not be respirationally challenged by the time of the primaries look grim for Dodd (though, I personally think the prospect bodes fair for America.)

So you think Dodd still has enough clout to win the primary even if his chances of winning reelection look bleak?

Chris Dodd - Like father, like son
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_J._Dodd
[Thomas Dodd] In 1967 he was censured by the Senate for using campaign funds for personal purposes. Beyond the Senate Ethics Committee's formal disciplinary action, other sources (such as investigative journalist Drew Pearson and Jack Anderson's Congress in Crisis) suggest Dodd's corruption was far broader in scope.
In 1970, after suffering a heart attack, he chose not to run for re-election for the Senate, and the Democrats nominated Joseph Duffey to replace him. However, Dodd entered the race after the primary as an Independent. Taking just under a quarter of the vote, both he and Duffey lost to Lowell Weicker.

Yep. There’s plenty of time to replace him with someone else and the Dems will do so.

I think he may be able to get enough of the Democratic Party machinery behind him, including public sector unions, to either intimidate or out muscle potential primary challengers. Especially considering primary turn out is typically only a fraction of that during a general election.
