The Liberal Question of the Day: What will you be doing during 'Earth Hour'?
My Mind | 3/27/09 | Patrick1

If you go on all these newspaper and media sites you will see the question being asked "What are you going to be doing during the hour of dark?"

I found a great answer, read below.

I won’t be home, but I will be driving my gas-guzzling 4 wheeler around the desert. And I’ll also have the fishtank back home on a timer so that there will be at least one light on back home.

I’ll be at the shooting range. But surely the kids will be playing their new Wii and have every light in the house on, like normal.

Just had my forest timbered (harvested) and, after cutting the tops for firewood, there’s a huge pile of scrap-—Bonfire, started with plenty of diesel fuel! It’ll smoke for days.

Been getting company emails about participating in this and that the company will be doing so. Of course nobody will be in the office at the time so I don’t get the point.

Genesis 4

4:2 . And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
4:3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

I am going to build a big smokey bonfire and burn
some fat, greasy “flock” animals......but no vegetables.

“Switching off your lights is switching off your freedom, and leaving them on is a vote against communist dictators.”

Excellent! We’ll be ablaze in lights and will be watching the 42” tv!

I’ll be watching “Cops” with every light in the house on, too.

Absolutely; I will look around to see if anyone has “lights off” - e.g., our across-the-street neighbor ALWAYS has those candles in their million windows and (to my irritation) all the lights on that front their house, all night. (I like it DARK when I try to sleep - but I’ve gotten over it. Still prefer it, though.)

Everyone is talking about appliances and so on; the only important things are lights - because your neigbors can see that.

Maybe as we note who has them all off, they’ll note we have them all ON!

I’ll probably be outside grilling a steak while enjoying a cold beer.

A cold beer? A? Beer only comes in six, 12, 18 and 24 packs.

Just joking. One at a time....

I have to buy some beer on the way home today. Got to have it when I grill the shrimp and chicken this PM.
