I've always said that there are likely hundreds of geological "gems" in the country's state parks. Here's one of them. Click for full-size.

The source of this photograph has got a pretty amazing portfolio. I recommend checking it out on the header link. The Santa Cruz County "Bridge to Nowhere" is another winner. His Hawaii pictures are pretty phenomenal too. This photographer is a master of coastal seascapes.

I figured that last week's volcano picture was enough, despite Redoubt's eruption. There aren't a lot of good pictures of this Redoubt eruption, mainly because its still pretty much winter in Alaska and thus very cloudy. Here's the AVO image page for Redoubt if you're interested:

That’s just a nice California sunset, they don’t call it the Golden State for nothing. Those smooth, eroded rocks are perfect camo for sea lions, too.
