I just ran across a listing of the 26 sexiest girls of the 1990s, and I feel that it is a topic I am qualified to write aboutas opposed to most of the other topics I write about. As far as I can remember, I took part in the 1990s, at least in a small way. In those days, we were all very interested in supermodels like Christy Turlington (above), and we'd get worked up wondering who would be on the next cover of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue. I watched "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" with Sarah Michelle Gellar on several occasions, and "Baywatch" regularly. (Not to mention Pamela Anderson's followup TV masterpiece,"V.I.P.") These days I don't know anything about who is the sexiest, because I don't watch "The Hills."
But back to this list I found: Speaking as a photographic historian, I take issue with some of the inclusions, exclusions, and rankings. In terms of cultural impact, I cannot agree that Carmen Electra out-sexied Pamela Anderson. And I think Madonna must be included on the list, if for no other reason than her 1992 book "Sex," done with photographer Steven Meisel. The list also a picture of Jennifer Love Hewitt (below). Wasn't she just a kid in the 1990s? And what the heck is she wearing? Now, that was the 1990s!---David Schonauer

That’s why B-R has 31 flavors, I reckon. This gal doesn’t work for me.
My favorite SI model of all time. Geatt bedroom eyes and yet a woman with great moral character.
Sure. I'll bring the politics.
Nevermind.
I get to chose who brings the politics and who brings their bikinis. You are slated for the latter.
It will be difficult to take you seriously, though, whilst Rome burns around us.
Good grief, Charlie Brown. Wear yer J-Lo sweats if you want. You can help judge the wet bikini contest.
