Remember when Bush was elected all the liberals threatened to move to Canada? And never did? They stayed here and now they've got exactly the President and Congress they've always wished for. And the rest of us are getting the shaft. And our children and grandchildren will be paying in every way for this folly unto the last generation.
My daughter and her husband have been asking me where they can move to to avoid the inevitable disasters that will ensue from Obama's policies, and I've been hard put to come up with a refuge that doesn't have its own drawbacks. But it just occurred to me that if enough of us who still believe in liberty and free markets and who reject phony rubbish like global climate change and endless government regulation move to Canada and become Canadian citizens, we could vote in a government up there that would be more like the United States we used to live in than the one that's shaping up now.
I believe the time is coming, and quickly, when the productive citizens of this (former) republic will be forced to recognize that the tipping point has passed - the parasitic socialists and tax-eaters have become the permanent majority in the US and will continue to vote for policies that exploit and punish the producing class. There are too many of them, and too few of us.
But if we all move to Canada, which is still in fact a sparsely-populated country for its size, we could form a new majority of productive citizens and vote in a truly conservative, free market government. At some point we might even persuade Alaska to secede from the US and join the new United Provinces of Canada. And in any case, WE'D BE ENTIRELY SELF-SUFFICIENT IN OIL.
Why would Canada want us? We have already fouled our own nest.
Blieve me, I will stay here in the USA for the fight as a Canadian ex pat for as long as I can, but you can rest assured that I have a personal plan in place to move home if I have to.
