Dick Cheney has never had any qualms about defending the Bush Administration war on terror or criticizing Democrats' alternative approaches to national security. But the former Vice President's vitriol-spewing turn on CNN last Sunday has left many in Washington wondering if it was about more than just protecting his legacy.

I miss VP Cheney.
And Rummy. That guy was amazing.
Amen....Cheney and Rummy were REAL men who didn’t listen to their wives to be kindler and gentler.
I miss ALL the adults.
As Rush so eloquently pointed out these are the people whom want to PROTECT the privacy of terrorists, but want AIG to release the names of bonus recipients.
I have always said I’d love to sit at the dinner table with them, LOL!
God bless you, Vice President Cheney. I can’t wait to read your book!
Love Darth.
According to Gibbs, Cheney isn’t popular enough to criticize Obamachev. Under Obamchev, national security doesn’t poll well. Comforting.
Cheney is speaking out because Cheney's a patriot - with a brain...and Grandchildren!
Actually, I think my hubby would love to very quietly enjoy a fly fishing day out with him...and I think the two Lynnes would enjoy a lunch and a discussion about American history :-)
I don’t know...
I LOVE this pic of the VP.
A man who won’t take S@#t from anyone.
That’s right. When asked about telling a certain senator to eff himself he didn’t even flinch, saying: “I thought is warranted”. “Still do”. Too funny.
Cheney's aggression will likely have the opposite effect.
Cheney didn't sugarcoat his attacks
but the timing of his diatribe
the ex-Veep also poured scorn on Obama's financial policies.
I'm not sure if Time intends this as a news or opinion piece; which shows just how far gone they are. But at least the author did his best to be fair by not unfairly characterizing the vp or anything. I mean the vitriol, aggression, attacks, diatribe and scorn that define Dick Cheney are obvious for all Obama flunkies to see, right? It's as clear to see as Palin's stupidity and Limbaugh's jingoism.
I bet the author has no idea how dumb he looks attributing all those sinister traits to the mild mannered Cheney without the slightest bit of supporting evidence.
So if this ex VP knows what's good for him, he'll shut up. And the author seems to approve of this. Here we have a leftist idiot cheering on the implementation of a police state, where impertinent political opinions and unpopularity with the useful idiot set can land you in jail.
