Why are we being bombarded with all of this Cathholic Hog Wash? This is supposed to be a forum for new news and political discussion. Now we are flooded with all of this Religious what ever. If I wanted to read or be exposed to all of that I would join their Church.
Because that's how the toothless snake-twisters get their rocks off.
in hell
I think you were right the first time.
I’ll stop there.
Are you sure this is good for his blood pressure?
Why must you make this personal?
Still humorous given the source . . .
However, repeated jokes tend to be slightly less funny.
You bear false witness against me.
The ancient city of Rome sits on seven hills... ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TIBER RIVER from the Vatican.
Slick qualifier . . . “ancient”
LOL.
Facts are not important to one who is just out to have fun “tweaking” Christians about their faith.
“Probably the most important one is we all believe that Jesus Christ is the Risen Lord and our Savior!!!”
I hope so. When some rhapsodize about Mary’s perfection, her co-redemptrix status, or issue prayers to others, you may understand, it gives me pause.
That said many of our values are the same. We all believe in one God, the Trinity, the inerrancy of Scripture, and other central doctrines.
Up to now the only Tripe Soup recipe that I had heard of was Philadelphia Pepperpot Soup. Interesting.
Over the past few centuries greater Rome has encroached around the Vatican, but “the city built on seven hills” is on the other side of the Tiber from Rome. Hence, the expression, “crossing the Tiber.” The theologically important distinction is that the Pope lives in deliberate exile from Rome, where the Roman executioners dumped St. Peter’s corpse.

Actually, I think it’s quite informative to see that there are certain people on Free Republic who do little of anything except try to turn every thread they visit into a relentless attack on the Catholic Church. It’s almost as if it weren’t for the attacking the Catholic Church, they wouldn’t have anything to say about Jesus or God or Christianity at all. Even when 99% of the rest of the Freepers are in solidarity against some God-hater, they have to come hi-jack the thread and try to turn it into a circular fire-squad hatefest.
DITTO! It's a bitter pill I'm swallowing as well
I've always wondered what the connection between astronomy and Chevrolet was.
and who had the gun to your head making you click on it?
Oddly enough, it was an albino Jesuit monk with a stupid smirk.
How EXACTLY?
With the exception of Vatican City the Pope has no authority to make laws in any country in the world.
In the United States, most states banned birth control well into the 20th Century, this had NOTHING to do with papal teaching on birth control (Humanae Vitae came AFTER the US and Europe embraced birth control).
How does a belief in allowing babies to be born the equivalent of believing that entire groups of people be killed?
All mainstream Protestant denominations opposed birth control well into the 20th century, did they also promote misery?
Can you name a single country which has passed legislation banning birth control as a result of Humanae Vitae? Because, if you cannot, it is impossible to say that a single person has EVER been denied birth control as the result of a papal teaching.
I found all the reassurance I could have asked for in post 138.

I don't know how anyone could be here for more than five minutes and fail to have a basic understanding of what this forum is. There's no excuse for anyone that's been here for ten years. Sheesh, get a clue!
