If you’re using a router take it out of the equation and plug directly into your modem to see if that changes anything.

Updates:
1. Anonymouse.org (anonymizer website) gets me in immediately and quickly, with both IE and Firefox
2. AR15.com's alternate URL -- AK47.net -- works with no problems on both browsers.

I am having the exact same problem, the anonymous login works, the problem started on the same day. Still looking for a solution. Joined in here to just to see the answer.
