Last I’d heard she was brain dead. What a terrible tragedy.

Gee. . . I guess free government-provided British medical care just isn’t good enough.

Not that there is anything wrong with her family coming to that decision if they want her to live.

They found out Canada has a 6 month wait on emergency brain surgery.

Why isn’t the Canadian hospital good enough??? I feel very sorry for her, but aren’t these people British or Irish and they have National Health Care???

If she could get free medical care in Canada (and if their system is so much better than ours that we need to overhaul our system to offer universal health coverage in the US), why in the world would they fly her to the US for treatment?

(I really don’t need a /sarcasm tag do I?)

Good move on the part of the family to get her out of Canada and away from it's health care system. I would do the same for any of my loved ones.

I guess socialized health care isn’t good enough for her.

Can’t say I blame the family.

God be with her.

She was brought home to pass away with family & friends nearby. She was skiing with NO helmet & was taking lessons at the time of her accident. She was also a US Citizen.

Being a brain injured MARINE I can understand the pain & grief that her family is going through. Prayers for all in her life....

Well that's terrible.

As an aside, I do wonder about the editors of this article.

Neeson and Miss Richardson, who have been married since 1994, have two sons, Michael, 13, and Daniel, 12.

Last time I heard, a married woman is styled "Mrs." or "Ms." depending on whether or not she cares to confirm her status as married via her title, but that the use of the style "Miss" is specifically reserved for unmarried women.

Apparently the fall itself wasn’t serious. I notice no one has suggested the possibility that she’d had a brain aneurism or something similar which could have caused her fall. Whatever happened though, it’s tragic for one so young.

It’s so sad for her two young sons. I have a boy the same age and it’s such a tough age. I cannot imagine the pain of loosing a parent on top of it. prayers for the family.

I heard that interview too and wondered if the Dr was saying without saying that if they had been able to treat her in the emergency faster than it must’ve happened that she might be recovering now instead of where she is?
