I've been too good at predicting the eliminations this season (give or take a week)

Hopefully Allison will have a great career in the music business and will keep her head about her.

Kris should be able to get back on-track next week, and hopefully Danny as well. Adam will be tough to beat and will likely make the final. It'll be Kris vs Danny next week for the other spot.

Daughtry was better than Paula Abdul and Gwen Stefani combined. Gwen sounded out-of-breath at the beginning of the song... weird. I was kinda looking forward to the reunited No Doubt, but did they have to do their first hit? And of course their drummer has always been a freak.

The three remaining contestants get two songs next week.

I think you’re dreaming if you think they get to pick out 4 or 5 and narrow it down from there.

I would say they have too to make it work. They know what their own range is and what they are comfortable with so it does not take long to narrow it down to one. Unless it is the same artist they are choosing from then they will run into who wants to do what because there the song choice is limited. But they have in the past I think it was season 2 where the same song was preformed by 2 of the contestants.

“To Allison, the gutsy little redhead who stole my heart, here’s to great success in your future in the music business. Someday soon, you will leave all the others in the dust!”

Here’s echoing your toast! Allison has great natural talent. And if she had sung last night like she sang tonight, she might still be in the competition! She really committed to her song tonight — real b***s to the wall, if you get my drift! I agree with you that she is likely to leave the others in the dust in say, the next ten years. She has a strong family backing her, she seems to have her head on straight, she has great talent, and she has a very distinctive voice that you can identify within a note or two. I think Allison has tremendous potential, and I wish her the very best.

I also think Adam has great potential for a great career, though his singing potential is largely already realized. I think Adam will come in second in this contest, behind Danny, but Adam will have a bigger career. (I see both Danny and Kris doing Christian rock, though it may not be labeled that.) I worry that Adam’s (apparent) lifestyle may interfere with his devotion to his career and that he may ultimately flounder and sink. I hope not.

The only album I may buy from this year's crop will be hers.

Seconded! She is the Daughtry of this year. Adam could make something of himself, but he will end up face down in the gutter with AIDS and a really bad drug habit. Allison will be VERY successful. The other two guys won't be remembered a year from now...

Wonder what Mr. Furley would think of Adam living in the Idol mansion with two other guys? :)

I am so blonde I was thinking "Mr. Furley? Ashley's dad??" at first.

Janis woke up in her grave and said “Whoa, she [bleeping] did that better than me! Now where did I leave that whisky bottle?”

I think you’re dreaming if you think they get to pick out 4 or 5 and narrow it down from there.

Also how many times has Randy complained about song choice then named off 4-5 artists that they could have chosen from then Cowell do the same thing and add 2-3 more. You looking at around 8 artists and each artist usually has 4-5 hits to choose from so now they have at least 32 songs choices. Plus on genre nights, like "Billboard's 90's,80's, 70's, 60's", "Rock", "Country", "Show Tunes", etc, show how many times over the seasons has Randy and the other judges said "From the hundreds of songs to choose from I can't believe you choose that." So yeah depending on the catalog it can be big.

Plus some of the great song choices that have put some over the top, some of the poor song choices that ended some the good contestants stay on the show, and some of the obscure song choices that some of the contestants have made over the years tells me that they have a huge selection to choose from.

Adam grosses me out too!
You know how sometimes something smells so bad you think you can actually taste it in your mouth? Gross, right?

Well with Adam, I swear I can smell him through the TV. Yuck!

(I know the above typed words make me sound like I am 12 years old. Believe me I am not. BUT it is LIKE I am SOOO totally GROSSED out by Adam)LOL

I know many people love him, but I think equally as many people are disgusted with him.

After Kara said Adam was a Rock God, my husband laughed and said he thought Adam looked like a department store rocker. Just putting on a costume and playing a role.

Adam Lambert, a peculiar one he is...

Pardon my political incorrection. Yes, he can sing. But as a general rule, I don’t like screechy vocals and I just plain don’t like him. Whether he wins AI or not, I can tell you that I won’t spend a dime on his music. Sorry to see Allison go... She has a much better voice than Janis Joplin could have ever hoped to have and she is only 17. I thought it would have been Danny’s night to go after that scream that had much of the audience covering their ears. Of the ones left, I find Chris the most interesting and listenable.

“Janis woke up in her grave and said “Whoa, she [bleeping] did that better than me! Now where did I leave that whisky bottle?””

You got that right. While Janis was an original, her talent pales in comparison to Allison.

Hopefully Allison will have a great career in the music business and will keep her head about her.

She needs to go the "Daughtry" route and get a good solid band behind her.

Speaking of Chris, I never "got" him on AI -- but I liked his performance last night. He's finally stopped swallowing the microphone (and yelling into it), and is actually singing now. Much, much better, in my book.

I don't know what we'll do in a couple weeks :-|

"So You Think You Can Dance" is a lot of fun, actually. Some of the dancers they get on there are amazing, and the judges are all choreographers who actually know what they're talking about.

Nigel is very much like Simon, but he "plays favorites" less. If he likes it, he'll tell you. If he doesn't, he'll tell you. He's also not afraid to "call out" a dancer (or even ALL the dancers) for slacking off if they're "mailing in" a performance.

” Kris is safe!???

This is CRAP!!

That mean Danny or Allison go home and that really stinks!!”

Agree. He’s a very good singer, composer, but he has had more down performances than the rest and should go.

” I like Chris and all of the final 5, but I try to figure out who has the best pipes. Adam has a multiple octive range reminiscent of Mariah Carey. He has put the best performances on the stage in a variety of styles. Everyone else is a step below.

Allison has great pipes for her style and a lot of soul for a youngster. Danny has a nice jazzy style and Chris is a balledeer. But none of them can perform to the level of Adam. “

Agreed.

I think if you asked Randy Jackson by himself, that is what he would say.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think his only really strong criticism to date has been” too theatrical”.

Don’t know that I’ve heard him criticize his singing, which he has done will all the other contestants.

Adam can sing, but I could not sit thru an entire show of his vocal stylings. You know the scream is coming at some point and a well sung song is like a box of chocolates; you can only eat so much when they are all the same.

I have been a singer all of my life and own very few entire “albums” from A singer. I would buy Allsion and Chris’ music; I could listen to both comfortably for an hour. And Chris wears less make-up than I do and that’s always a plus on my list.
Danny is good, but gets a little more into the vocal runs than I personally care for (pick a freakin note and stick with it already!-IMHO)..that’s just me. He needs a look/style and doesn’t have one yet, but he will do fine as well.
Chris is the average-hunky-balladier and is the polar opposite of Adam; nuff said.

Somebody had to go home, but Allison is all set with a career; she has the look, the guts and the voice. She needs to be managed well-song choices and the like-and because of her young age, she could truly be a better listening choice for younger girls, instead of Britney, Christina etc.
Allison can really sing and performed MUCH better than Gwen Stefani who sounded like she needed an inhaler or some O2 most of the time. I kept reaching for my Advair from the moment she first started singing. Did she JOG to the studio from the airport? Weird.

Just my 2cents...thanx for the thread whoever started it...it’s a nice distraction.
