Last night, I was accosted by my professor due to a question we recieved on our midterm test:
A non-partisan, legal organization that defends all individual rights and liberties by the Constitution and laws of the United States is:
A: American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)
B: American Bar Association (ABA)
C: Fraternal Order of Police (FOP)
D: Association of Pension Lawyers (APL)"
Well, on my midterm, I wrote below the choices (E) None of the above.
While we were grading, he specifically called me out and told me to defend my point, where I counted SEVERAL ways why the questioning was wrong, and should have included (E) None of the above.
He paused and said, "So, your a Right wing Republican whacko, eh?"
To which I responded, "No, the Republicans are WAY to liberal for me, even though I am forced to vote for them, and I am actually Libertarian in philosophy".
Of course, he just shook his head and said, "As I said, a right-wing whacko" in a cordial and joking mannor.
Anyways, we continued, and he congratulated me on making the highest score in the class (104/100) and only missing that question and getting the bonus questions ;)
Founded by a Communist and continuing the tradition.
It really ticks me off anyone would have the nerve to describe the ACLU as non-partisan. You should send your story to Bill O’Reilly. I bet he would mention it and maybe even have you one the show.
Good for YOU. I’m an older college student and they should give you barf bags for some of the lectures.
Oh and for whatever it’s worth, he should not be allowed to insult you like that. “Wacko?” Where is your college (state)?
Great point.
All my prof’s were prior military, not a commie in the bunch, except in the English building.
Congrats on the score and the inadvertant recognition that the brightest mind in the class had not succumbed to the brainwashing of the liberal saturated college sewer.
Why can’t the libs ever use the term “right-of-center”? It’s always “right wing” or ultra-right wing.” I try to school the libs and recommend that they think of political people as passengers on a wide-bodied jet. There are those on the left and those on the right and some in the middle. To say that someone is on the wing (left or right) means that they’re not even in the fuselage any more. Most lefties just stare at me with a blank look because they’ve never even thought about what the term means. It’s just a knee-jerk reaction to them.
In all my years of formal post-secondary education, the biggest commie pinko lib I ever ran across was a professor of.....are you ready for this......JOURNALISM! I know, you’re shocked....really....
This prof looks like he might be of the same mold.
Way to go.
test was too easy
My husband spoke against some sort of entitlement program in a college class, casually, and his professor announced to the class the Mr. Marie was a “redneck who hated the poor.”
Mr. Marie, not usually at a loss for words, was so shocked he could not respond.
What class was this anyway?
Donohue wrote "The Politics of the American Civil Liberties Union" in 1985.
Your professor flunks.
Good for you for standing up to him and not being afraid to speak the truth. ;) I hope more people in schools will.
"I am for socialism, disarmament, and ultimately, for abolishing the state itself... I seek social ownership of property, the abolition of the properties class, and sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal. I don't regret being part of the communist tactic. I knew what I was doing. I was not an innocent liberal. I wanted what the communists wanted, and I traveled the United Front road to get it.
Roger Baldwin (a co-founder of the ACLU)
Proof that the ACLU is a communist front group.
