Its about you and a few million of your closest friends defending themselves from govt.
And this is precisely why America has never been invaded by ANY army. It has never been the fear of our military that has stayed the hand of aggressors, but the fear of the American people.
There isn't a bigger army in all the world than the armed citizens of America. No one - including our own military will challenge that army, if it's unleashed.
The entire might of the US military took years to pacify Iraq.....fighting 5000 jihadists with AKs and improvised explosives....and our guys were motivated...
And they are still OUR guys...and they are fully aware of just who had their backs when the dems wanted to cut and run...
I just said that to another poster. We have nothing to fear from our GIs.
Well not in recent history.
The commission studied, among other things, what force levels were needed to quell what level of unrest and get the masses off the street.
Once the masses are off the street, the riot is over.
Only the complete and overwhelming saturation of all unsympathetic official recourse on a very broad scale would unable to be shut down, and that would likely elicit a violent response in one or more areas--especially if 'peacekeeping' entities met with violent resistance.
Such 'incidents' of violent resistance could be manufactured within the context of peaceful protest for the purpose of villifying the protest and the cause it supports, or the official response, provided media would report it that way. Anything from firecrackers to well placed gunshots could trigger the incident, and it need not come from a participant on either side of the situation, so long as someone percieves the other group is using deadly force.
It is not likely that any such conflict would begin with the use of lethal force, but escalate to that degree, at which point the use of force will follow from events and seem justifiable at the time, especially if parsed in sanitized bureaucratese.
If the incident is isolated, and the outcome violent, the 'official' media would paint the rebellious citizens (or responding force, depending on desired outcome) as heinous and vicious criminals, with as evil a countennance as possible to cause isolation from the general (and decent) public, villification, and to crush so much as sympathetic talk about the issue which led to protest in the first place. (Isolation, villification,....sound familliar?)
Needless to say, this would have a dampening effect on any support from the 'ordinary' masses for those who embrace the now-villified cause, and could even lead to material support (informants) in rounding up sympathizers.
Witness what happened to the 'militia movement' and the protest of Federal actions at Waco, Texas after the media (in the public psyche) tied the OK City bombing, not to 'supporting Middle Eastern John Does', but to old Constitution-reading Jesus-loving White guys with guns and comoflage jackets, and then proceeded to connect being a 'Constitution-reading Jesus-loving white guy with a gun and camoflage jacket' to skinheads and crackpots and criminals from under every rock anywhere.
Once those sound-byte level connections were made for Mom and Pop TVnewsWatcher, by extension, even hunters were villified.
The STFU factor was there, effective, and worked against effective mainstream dissent.
This is no secret, and can be used against any people in any portion of the political spectrum by anyone controlling the offical assets and the media to do so.
What has been the ultimate check on rogue governmental action in the past has been a significant and hostile media, one which would be immediatiely villifying the current administration for getting out of line, or a branch of Government which would not go along.
While under the Clintons, we saw an inkling of what it would be like with a sympathetic media and one branch of government willing to push the limits, we are now faced with a media which worships the very administration they should help question, and an administration which is ruthlessly looting and changing our government on a daily basis, with enough majority in Congress and no compunction about violating the Constitution.
It is the perfect storm, and allows the administration to take actions which will only considerably worsen the economy and weaken our nation, eventually virtually guaranteed to cause incidents.
It is the response to those isolated incidents which will be used to quell any rebellion before it gets started.
Beat that game plan, and America has a chance. Otherwise, better to wait for the election or work to hobble/remove this administration through peaceful means than give the excuse needed to implement the police state, if you think there is a solid chance to avoid that happening.
