U.S. Army To Buy $6 Million Of Riot Equipment (Obama plans to crush citizen protests this summer)
blacklistednews ^ | 2/25/09 | Watson

The U.S. Army is to invest $6 million in riot equipment, a fact that has furthered fears that troops will be used inside the U.S. in order to quell any civil unrest resulting from the ongoing economic crisis.

The U.S. Army Contracting Agency, based at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, has a post on the Federal Business Opportunities website, requesting the equipment and has received several notices of interest from potential vendors.

The request titled “84–RIOT EQUIPMENT” outlines the need for hard polyethylene Shin and Chest Guards, shock absorbing Forearm Protectors, Interior leg brace supports as well as knee and ankle protectors.

The ACA asks that the equipment be able to “safely withstand a substantial blow… from non-ballistic weapons or flying debris”.

The Solicitation also states:

The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 453998 with a small business size standard of $6M. This requirement is a [ Small Business ] set-aside and only qualified offerors may submit bids.

Interested vendors include Irish Brigade inc., manufacturers of hunting and safety gear with facilities located in the heart of Kansas City , Missouri. Federal and Military resource company MCLEARVISION, LLC is another interested party, as is Kentucky based U. S. CAVALRY STORE, INC.

In our article yesterday we highlighted the fact that Urban warfare training drills are taking place across the country as top analysts as well as officials predict a potential “summer of rage” across Europe and America as civil unrest from the economic fallout builds.

Are such drills really for the purpose of preparing troops for foreign combat zones? Undoubtedly - but other factors indicate that the drills may very well also be aimed at preparing troops for dealing with mass civil unrest as the economic crisis worsens.

There’s no question that U.S. authorities have been closely observing riots that have toppled governments in Iceland and Latvia and also threatened to do so in several other European countries. The fact that they have contingency plans in place to deal with such scenarios should they unfold in America cannot be disputed.

Indeed, before a media exposé forced them into a denial, Northcom revealed that one of the duties of at least 20,000 active duty troops that are being placed inside the United States would be dealing with “civil unrest and crowd control”.

The U.S. Army War College in November released a white paper called Known Unknowns: Unconventional ‘Strategic Shocks’ in Defense Strategy Development. The report warned that the military must be prepared for a “violent, strategic dislocation inside the United States,” which could be provoked by “unforeseen economic collapse,” “purposeful domestic resistance,” “pervasive public health emergencies” or “loss of functioning political and legal order.” The “widespread civil violence,” the document said, “would force the defense establishment to reorient priorities in extremis to defend basic domestic order and human security.”

Too many of you are of the belief this riot gear equipment will be worn by American troops. We already have foreign troops illegally training in our country right along side the NJTF.

Wake up people! This is not your daddy's country any more. Obama is a tyrant pure and simple and with the last two generations of American children having been effectively dumbed down by our public school system most do not have the critical thinking skills to pour piss out of a boot with the instructions on the bottom. Why would any of you honestly think they would have a clue what the Constitution says? I personally know many military personnel that honestly think that they are required by law to protect and defend the President of the United States NOT the US Constitution.

Seriously folks.... How many people still know what the word "is" means?

Repent and look up for your redemption draweth nigh.

Ok. Then let’s all just forget about the concept of defending our freedom from a tyrannical government.

May as well accept our fate, and quit worrying about the utopia that Lord Obama is ushering in.

Wow, that was simple. I guess I’m done talking on this board now. I feel so much more peaceful now.

Thanks!

Harry, my entire point is that we must resist the destruction of our country in any and every way we can.

The type and scope of resistance that we’ve been discussing isn’t something that will happen spontaneously, or even soon. We haven’t yet reached the point where the pain is great enough for that level of response to occur.

It’s my hope that the American people will raise enough of a protest over what the Democrats and Obama are doing to our economy and our government, that they will be compelled to roll back the worst of it.

I hope that we will see enough Americans galvanized to participate in large demonstrations, that it actually accomplishes our ends before our form of government is unalterably changed, or we have a widespread rebellion in this country.

It’s just a hope at this point, though. I have little faith that those in power will listen to the American public, even if we mount the largest of peaceful protests.

We are on the same page!

I normally find that to be the case, if two Freepers just talk long enough.

I truly want the current tensions to be eased peacefully, with a renewed focus and attention to the will of The People by our Congress.

If we manage to achieve that by applying our 1st Amendment right to free speech, then I will rejoice.

The current Congress and administration have shown that they are of a radical leftist mindset, though. The moves they are making at present are more than just disturbing...they're absolutely frightening.

It's enough to cause an otherwise peaceable man to go out and buy more guns and ammo, to prepare for the worst. The fact that millions of my neighbors are doing this very thing, is cause enough to raise my own "threat level".

For now, I will send my one little tea bag to Obama on April 1st, and will attend my local tea party next month. I truly hope this gets the message across to the Obama administration.

I don’t think that this will get settled without some radical demonstrations. The tea bag stuff is pretty tame considering that the boys in Boston took quite a risk dumping their tea in the harbor. We need to start at the local city councils, and throw the commies out there first. I don’t mean elect them out either! That fellow in England told me that their commie government got its roots sunk in the local councils first, meeting the needs of their constituients, then took over the government. That was W’s friend Tony. It wasn’t until the Brits started taking to the streets recently that things shifted to the better. They are about to take control back of their country and our MSM doesn’t even report it.

It's the communication that counts with the tea bag thing. Obama and crew are gonna break out in a cold sweat when they get thousands of bags of mail with these things in them. The message will be loud and clear to them.

I don’t think that this will get settled without some radical demonstrations.

Agreed. These demonstrations will need to grow to gigantic proportions for us to get through to the administration. And I think they will. Obama and his minions will ensure they grow, by ignoring us until millions are demonstrating in the streets every week.

By that time, it'll be too late to smooth it over, or to placate the masses with anything but a complete turn-around of their agenda.

We need to start at the local city councils, and throw the commies out there first.

I have plans to begin working with my local county Republican party to do just that.

At the pace things are moving . . . 4 years could be a long time.

They HAVE to be inserting all manner of traitors into the ranks as fast as they can. 4 years is a lot of time to do that.

“As the owner of a company that sells to the military I had to comment on this.

This article is absurd. The bid for Ft. Leavenworth is not for $6M of riot equipment. It was only calling for 55 sets of riot gear.
The bid was already awarded for under $20k.

The $6M provision in the bid is for small-business qualification. In order to qualify bid on it the small business had to do no more than $6M in business per year. If the company did more than $6M they could not bid on it.”

Hey. Wait a minute. Your facts will spoil the sillyness at this echo chamber.

How much time I have spent in the service is irrelavent.

Do you get a prize or something? Does it make your post more valid?
