If they are qualified and legal to work in this country then why would nationalization be important?

If they're going to work in many positions in the Federal government, especially those of high authority, it's very important that they have the best interest of our government at heart, which is exactly why security clearances that include background investigations are done on them. You may not respect or appreciate this need, but it is a long standing and very important one to help ensure our government isn't infiltrated by those who wish to cause it or us harm. There are many flags that, rightfully, are cause for additional investigation, such as being born in a foreign country, being married to someone from a foreign country, etc, which even Obama won't be able to easily overturn if he ever tries.

This individual will have the proper background checks and as a member of the Obama administration, the Republicans will be looking for stuff on him at all times.
