Microsoft founder head Bill Gates has banned the use of products made by arch-rival Apple from his house, his wife has revealed.
But the blockade could backfire on Gates, 53, after Melinda admitted there are times she feels envious of her friends' iPhones.
She told Vogue magazine that the couple's three children Jennifer, 13, Rory, 10 and Phoebe, seven, are not allowed Apple products.

The understanding is that if they do use Apple products, Dad will unleash a torrent of malaria infected mosquitos.
LOL! Is making your kids use Vista a form of child abuse?
Same here!
Microsoft Smartphones and Zunes for everyone!
Is this supposed to be a surprise? This would be a major PR-flap if a Gates family member were photographed holding an iPhone or sitting around a coffee house with a MacBook.
One would assume the Jobs family isn’t doing their homework in MSOffice either. Although their hardware engineering group certainly isn’t using MAC OS, I can tell you that with a high degree of certainty.
I’ll bet that anyone in management at Pepsi or Coke companies won’t buy the competitor either. Standard stuff.
There’s gonna be a new Apple commercial very soon.
Well played..
Small, Bill. Very small.
He is depriving his children of one of the pleasures of life. By the way, wonder which company is more liberal Apple or Microsoft? Is it a toss up? No matter, I wouldn’t trade my Macs. Heads up for anyone wanting a Mac but can’t afford a new one. I have 3 Macs. I only bought my first one new. The last 2 I bought used and they all work just fine. I’ve had my G3 since 2000 and it works perfectly. The only reason I got a newer one is that I temporarily messed the G3 up by installing a new OS incorrectly. While it was down I found a G4 fairly inexpensively. I always wanted one of those so I bought it. I found the G3 clamshell iBook that I’m on now last year on ebay and I really like it too. I don’t know of very many Microsoft computers that are still being used at 9 years of age. Well, I really don’t know of any. Mac rocks.
{dorky baby music plays in background}
PC and his wife scold their children when they grab for Mac products from a table.
PC: Don't touch those! You'll go to the devil!
PC softly brushes his children's hands away from Mac products.
Mac: What are you doing?
PC: Teaching my children that Apples are evil.
Mac: What do you mean?
PC: The sleek looks, perfect operating system and knowledge aquired through it are Satan's deception. That's what the apple did Adam and Eve.
Mac: And your systems perfect?
PC: Of course it is.
PC smiles and shows his children a PC laptop with Microsoft Vista.
PC pushes a key and the Blue Screen of Death appears.
PC(to Mac): We still have a few bugs to work out.
End commercial with Mac laptop and logo.
The work I do prevents my use of a Mac, but I do have an iPhone. Great device!
Sounds about right to me.
You do know that you can run Windows/Microsoft on a Mac don’t you?
good ad...sell it!
The program I run needs 100% compatibility. Currently compatibility on a Mac is running about 98%.
Oh well, maybe later.
If he’s murdered in his sleep, I wouldn’t convict his children. He made them use a Zune instead of an iPod.
I’ve been on Vista for about 3 weeks now (on an Intel i7 box) and have discovered it doesn’t support a plain-Jane Seagate FreeAgent USB hard drive .... after 1 1/2 years of complaints from users!!!
Nothing wrong with the drive, it works on all of my non-Vista computers.
Vista has some nifty features, especially on i7 and Radeon 4850 graphics, but its compatibility with normal everyday stuff sometimes falls short.
